On March 25th Zanny Minton Beddoes, The Economist’s editor-in-chief, travelled to the Ukrainian capital with Russia and Eastern Europe editor, Arkady Ostrovsky, to meet Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president. In this exclusive and in-depth interview, conducted in what Mr Zelensky’s staff describe as “the fortress”, the president discussed the state of the war, the international support his country needs and what he believes a Ukrainian victory will look like.
