Linux Lite 7.2 released with new theme manager, AI-powered support, and UEFI enhancements

Linux Lite has released version 7.2, built on the Linux kernel 6.8 and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. This update introduces several new features, including the Lite Theme Manager, which simplifies theme customization for desktop, icons, and mouse cursors through an easy-to-use point-and-click interface. Additionally, Lite AI Support is integrated into the system's support framework, enhancing the troubleshooting experience with artificial intelligence.

The Lite Updates feature has been re-written in Yad, offering more flexibility than the previous Zenity-based system, which allows for future expansions and additional options. Software included in this release features Chrome 130, Thunderbird 115.16, LibreOffice 24.2.6.2, VLC 3.0.20, and GIMP 2.10.36, among others.

Aesthetic updates in Linux Lite 7.2 include the new Materia window theme, Papirus icon theme, and Roboto Regular as the default system font. For users transitioning from Windows, the system now fully supports UEFI. To check for UEFI on a Windows PC, users can access System Information via msinfo or msinfo32 in Windows Search and check the BIOS Mode entry. While Secure Boot is supported, disabling it is recommended for a smoother installation process.
