Marine and Shoanna by the Shore

"Oi, aren't yas supposed to be in the sky and, not in the sea?" Marine said to the starfish. "Looking a little bit lost there, mate. I reckon you ought to get back to where yas belong."

"and aren't YOU supposed to be on land, and not in the water, Marine?" Shoanna said in the starfish’s defense.

"Not the same, Shoa...Raccoons have little raccoon feet that can go in the water AND land. What do starfishies have? They don't even have fins! They belong in the sky! Fair dinkum."

"I think that starfish can go wherever they please, Marine.” Shoanna said as she gently knelt to look at the starfish’s bright orange coloration. She then tilted her head. “Who’s to tell starfish where they can and cannot go?"

"Blimey Shoa, that's why starfishies are down 'ere in the first place! They have no-one to rough 'em up whenever they step outta line, and so they start thinking they can go whereever they want! Then the whole universe would stop having stars on account of them ALL wanting to become more fish than star. I reckon we need starfish bullies to keep the galaxy in balance. I’m just trying to save the universe ‘ere, mate.”

"Marine, just leave it alone to its little starfish life at the bottom of the sea.” Shoanna returned as she stood back up and looked for something else that might distract Marine.. “It knows where it wants to belong, and it knows where it wants to be going. Besides, isn’t it nice that we can have stars above and below?"

“But that’s just the thing, Shoa! What if all the stars above want to be stars below!? Then the ‘whole universe would stop having lights! I can’t go on adventures when all the stars went and gone walkabout! So I’ve got to put a stop to this!”

Shoanna then sighed. “Please, Marine, the universe is not going to lack light because of starfish. Look, let’s go by the pier over there, there’s always some brightly colored fish by the coral there that I like to show you."

Marine is having a mom/daughter date with Shoanna on the shoreline of the island. I modified Shoanna’s design a little bit so that the top of her hair is more brightly colored and that it blends into her ears like hair. I will be doing a reference sheet for Shoanna soon but her design is probably not finalized yet... I still don’t know what coloration Shoanna might have but I do plan on coloring more often soon.
