STORY
The Seven Heroes were once hailed as saviors, but the ancients feared their power and banished them to another dimension. It was foretold that they would return to save the world once more...
Thousands of years have passed, and the heroes have become legend. Furious that humankind has forgotten their many sacrifices, they have now returned as villains bent on revenge.
As legions of monsters swarm the world, take on the role of Ruler of the Empire of Varennes. Defend your legacy across successive generations, expand your realm and defeat the vengeful Seven Heroes one by one!

Join forces with characters from over 30 different classes, featuring a wide variety of races and professions as well as favored weapons, abilities, and tactics.
Select your main character from a large number of protagonists, each eligible to inherit the throne.
Through the mechanism of Imperial Succession, the knowledge and abilities of the previous ruler are passed down to the next generation, forging bonds between you and your chosen character.

The highly strategic, turn-based battle system has been further enhanced to Timeline Battles. Enjoy all the classic SaGa mechanics, such as the “Glimmers” system that lets you learn new abilities in the heat of battle and “Formations” that provide unique benefits to the party, but also new innovative mechanics like the ""United Attack Combos"".
■Graphics
Join forces with characters from over 30 different classes, featuring a wide variety of cultures and professions as well as favored weapons, abilities, and tactics.
All the towns and dungeons are also rendered in full 3D, with re-worked terrain layouts.
■Difficulty settings
Select from three difficulty levels: Casual, Normal and Hard (Classic).
Casual offers a more story focussed experience, while Normal is recommended for veteran RPG players and Hard is for players looking for the brutal but satisfying challenge of the original 1993 version.
■Music and voices
Kenji Ito, composer for the original Romancing SaGa 2, returns to create new music arrangements. Choose between the original version and the new arrangements from the options screen.
All event scenes now feature full Japanese and English voice acting recorded for Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven."
