The West has unveiled a plan in case of war with Russia. It mentions the year 2027. Experts explained the purpose of modeling the future confrontation and told about the tactic called "Turn on Hollywood".

Recently, Bild published a plan for war with Russia, which was created by former NATO generals Philip Breedlove and Ben Hodges. Under the presented scenario, it is assumed that Moscow will attack the Baltic states, immediately take control of Latvia, and in another 10 days - half of Lithuania. At the same time, the year 2027 is mentioned. Experts speculated on how realistic such a scenario is, whether Russia can actually attack European states, and why the West is trying to inflate this story.


What is the purpose of simulating Russian attacks?

Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, believes that the West's goal in this case is absolutely clear. NATO, and above all the United States, planned a large-scale information attack on Russia to justify further support for Ukraine:

This is an active event aimed at demonizing Russia, increasing the degree of espionage mania and Russophobia in Europe. And the preparation of the Baltic states, their territories, for, in fact, a springboard for military operations against the Russian Federation. In this case, this is nothing more than an active event conducted, respectively, by the United States of America, in the interests, again, of demonizing Russia and influencing public opinion in Europe, in order to support the military and financial assistance packages that the European Union and NATO are currently providing to Ukraine.

A similar position is shared by a researcher at the Institute of CIS Countries, head of the Department of the Baltic States Ruslan Pankratov. The interlocutor of Tsargrad mentioned that such tactics of information warfare even have a special name:

In the language of the special services, such a scenario, such an information stuffing is called "turn on Hollywood". Plus, of course, there is an information attack, definitely in order to see how the allies or the Russian Federation will react to this absolutely delusional stuffing.
Why 2027?

Igor Korotchenko believes that the year 2027 indicated in the simulated confrontation in this case does not carry any semantic load.:

Look, they could have written any year. This is an active event of the special services, which is carried out with the aim of exerting influence. Therefore, we are not interested in what years are recorded.

At the same time, Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Presidential Council on Interethnic Relations, believes that the year 27 was chosen for a reason. According to the interlocutor of the "First Russian", by this time the West expects to mobilize its forces.:

In my opinion, the year 2027 was chosen for a reason. By the announced date, NATO countries will be able to conduct combat coordination in their armies, introduce conscription again, establish military production and, accordingly, simply be prepared for a military conflict to at least a minimal extent.
Can Russia attack the Baltic States?

Bogdan Bezpalko believes that an attack on the Baltic states by Russia can take place only as a last resort. You need good reasons for this:

Theoretically, it is possible to assume that Russia will be able to attack the Baltic states. This is a certain scenario in which a certain threat will be placed in the Baltic states, which is extremely dangerous, unacceptable, and absolutely unacceptable for Russia.

But the NATO countries may well strike first, Ruslan Pankratov believes. The expert pointed out that exercises conducted by the alliance may indicate a possible impending attack.:
