If you intend to use this for:
- making calls and checking messages
- going through your social media
- watching videos and web browsing
- light gaming
Then this a good phone.
Camera is decent and will do you justice. Though nothing to boast about.
Not the fastest out there. There are many games that I have tried playing but the experience was so bad I didn't want to continue. Though this only applies to more heavier or recent games, older games work very well on it.
Over time it does get slow, though: I have seen it freeze on me at times. When you restart, it will take a good 2-3 minutes before it becomes usable again. My keyboard also sometimes annoys me but popping up, disappearing and then popping up again.
Surprisingly durable. I expected it to have visible cracks after all those falls but it withstood. Scratches and minor cracks are only visible when screen is turned off and light is being reflected.
Storage wise, if you want to use it for the above stated reasons then you don't have to worry at all. For me, since I play a lot of games, 64gb was not enough. 128gb would be ideal I think.
Battery is pretty good. Unless under load or constant use, it can last the entire day. Charges quickly too.
Ultimately I think it's a good phone for office use, the elderly and any young teenagers who might be asking for a device. For heavier tasks it's better to seek other options. Especially when spending just a bit more can get you a better phone.

Has anyone had problem with the front camera and mic after update? Quality of camera not like first time I bought this phone, 50mps result photos like the 2015s phones. and mic not function with built-in mic and earphone too. I tried to wipe cache+reset apps not solved my problem. What should i do to change back mic and quality camera?

I have been using Samsung A04 for the past 9 months. (October 2023 - July 2024) on Android 13, One Ui 5
The phone feels thin and somewhat light. The durability is.. intresting. This device feel face down and completely cracked (had to spend apox 30$ replacing it) and I also spotted a few cracks on the back. Which probably means you should take this phone with care.
Also, the back can get dirty so clean it regularly and make sure to get a phone cover since it can feel uncomfy to hold atimes.
The quality of the screen is OK, I can watch Youtube vids with satisfying quality however you just can use this phone in bright sunlight. The brightness on max level is just not acceptable
The performance if this device is subpar. It can take time to open even simple apps atimes. I have gotten used to it but whenever I try to open stuff infront of people I get pretty stressed up due to me noticing how slow it is.
And on the gaming side. Its a 50/50, some games work fine some dont. However don't expect top level gaming experience as 4GB on this kind of processor is not so heavenly.
Crashes and lags do happen but generally during heavy use (transferring huge files, moving quickly between applications, etc)
The user interface is the best. One Ui never really disappointed me in its looks and functions. Tho the chipset does make it look cheap but its fine. Dont expect too much updates as its a low end phone
Back Camera is lovely! The 50MP does really well. Even it nighttime, It can still do somewhat well with a bit of adjustments. The front is not so good tho. Additionally, the vid quality is fine. Overally is great enough for daily use
The battery is great. It lasts for hours and hours! And the battery health stayed the same as well even after heavy use over the months. But the charging speed is Alrighty but acceptable for this range and battery endurance
Network is alright. Never really had problems
Speakers... The main is loud enough but the call speakers holy moly... its the WORST speakers I struggle to hear people when I call most of the time. But at least it has a headphone jack that works
No special features. No fingerprint or stuff like that (I mean come on what do you expect for a sub 100$ phone)
Overall, I rate this phone a 2.65/5
For daily use, It can work enough. And I think for the budget it does well. However compared to others its not impressive and I would recommed you to increase your budget if possible.

Worst phone ever! Constantly freezing, glitching and is ridiculously slow. I'm going back to my old Huawei which is far superior. Avoid buying this phone!!

This is by far the worst phone I have ever owned! Dont buy! Since the last two updated it freezes constantly. You can not make calls or answer calls and the phone freezes. You have to restart it daily and even then it's slow. My wife has the same one with upgraded ram and hers is just as bad. Ignore these reviews buy a different phone ! TRASH! (I came to write this review because we trying to phone our doctor late pregnancy and both phones are terrible!)

i have own 3gb ram 32gb storage firstly its going well, but when im starting live on tiktok its giving lagging.. the battery capacity is good. i prefer this for social media,news, youtube. a basic apps not hardcore gaming and editor stuff.

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2024This is not midrange but lowest of lowend with garbage P35 soc.the helio p35 processor isnt the reason why the phone sometimes lags, its literally because of one UI 5 trash optimization, also the p35 is as strong as an iphone 6s plus processor so theres really no reason to rag on the a04's processor

Good phone for multitasking but having heavy games probably slows the device but they’re heavy except they slow it without opening it, probably 13 games, reasonable, I recommend it just for contacts and multitasking it runs super well on some apps, it have dual sim which is good, it just support 4G, good thing it still good on 5g wifi, it’s fast to download, and I is low especially installing it, reasonable chipset and camera is good, and has card slot making it more reasonable some iPhone probably have remove, and ipad, but it does it job when for texting, plus it has customization, especially good lock except it’s only for one ui and not for one in core. I recommend it since it runs android I’m talking about customization and other developer stuff which you can get, I despise apple settings, it doesn’t support valueble features, but it’s good at performing apps very well, and smoothness

bought the phone cause i thought it was a good budget phone. ive had for approximatelly six months now; the mic is crappy the video is carp the camera is normal; it starts lagging in google chrome sometimes it crashes and it also overheates .i have a huawei p9 lite and it s way better than this in every aspect other than the memory. i wouldnt recommend buying it; there are much better phones out there for the same price; i feel scammed.

Our distributors have basically recalled most stocks of this phone too, owing to a common bootloop issue that never got fixed in our country's variant.

RAM helps to keep more apps stay open at same time and also... morei know they are different, however, even oppo f7 or galaxy a03 runs much better than this new shiny piece of garbage that looks like something pinched off iphone 11. more ram isn't always better if equipped with weak processor. it would make sense with helio g85.

RAM helps to keep more apps stay open at same time and also helps to keep more tabs stay open inside a browser.
On other side SOC helps to load apps, games, web pages faster.
So, users need to think about their usage pattern first, then buy something that can fullfill their need.

I'm yet to see any reviews or proof of existence for the 8GB RAM variant of this model, and all A series devices below the A3x devices only feature a 32bit OS, just to make them obsolete before how long it should actually exist in use.
Possibly the largest variant of this phone is 4/64 with a free 64GB MicroSD card for selected regions, especially Latin America

And the A03 was noticably the most value-for-money low end device ever made under the Samsung brand since 2015, despite lacking both a fingerprint sensor and proximity sensor.
At least, LG became free from Wingtech's monopoly of the ever laggy P35s

Like, just imagine the performance difference between the 3GB and 8GB RAM variants. At the end, they're the same phone. I know performance does not completely depend on RAM but there will still be so much difference between them. A bit too much.
