Food Service Purchasing Organization Hit With Group Boycott Suit

Food service group purchasing organization SEFA was sued by a former member, which alleges it conspired with top officials to boycott the company and thwart competition in the market for commercial kitchen food service equipment services.

Kamran & Co. LLC, a California-based distributor and seller of commercial food service equipment, says it was wrongfully expelled from SEFA and deprived of group purchasing benefits.

The expulsion damaged Kamran’s reputation with customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and employees, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Kelly Cain, CEO of SEFA, is also named a ...
