In late September, an unusual incident occurred in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, involving two fatal accidents, involving an 18-year-old Turkish male driving without a license and an 18-year-old Chinese male driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The first accident occurred on September 23rd at an intersection in Maekawa, Kawaguchi City, where a passenger car collided with a two-seater moped, and the passenger car fled the scene, resulting in a fatal hit-and-run accident. One of the two boys riding the moped died, and the other is unconscious and in critical condition. On September 27th, Saitama Prefectural Police arrested an 18-year-old Turkish part-time worker without a driver's license who turned himself in to the nearest police station on suspicion of hit-and-run and negligent driving without a license resulting in death or injury.
Furthermore, in the early morning of September 29th, a car traveling the wrong way down a one-way street collided with another car approaching the intersection at Nakacho, Kawaguchi City. The driver of the car, a 51-year-old company executive, died.

The driver of the wrong-way car was an 18-year-old unemployed Chinese man, and after the accident, a breath test revealed that he had alcohol in his blood above the legal limit, leading to his arrest on suspicion of negligent driving causing injury and drunk driving. Several passengers in the car fled the scene.
Surprisingly, when questioned by the Saitama Prefectural Police, the Chinese suspect said:
"I was driving the wrong way down a one-way street and caused the accident. I had been drinking. I saw I was driving the wrong way and tried to get through quickly."
He confessed that he was aware that he was drunk driving and driving the wrong way down a one-way street, yet he was driving at over 2.5 kilometers per hour on a road about 100 meters wide.
The accident site was in a residential area about 1 kilometer from the west exit of JR Kawaguchi Station, and is close to an elementary school, a sports center, a supermarket, and a community center.
Kawaguchi City is home to many foreigners of Turkish and Chinese nationality, and foreigners living in Japan account for 7.3% of the city's population.
"I knew an accident like this would happen eventually."
"The police were so mad that they had to go to the hospital," said an angry housewife in her 40s who lives in Kawaguchi City as she recounted her terrifying experience.

Abnormal situationBut that's not all.Kawaguchi City's population continues to decline by 1000 people each month.Kawaguchi is located in the southern part of the prefecture, on the border with Tokyo, and is conveniently located for commuting to work or school, with JR Tokyo Station and Shinjuku Station both 25 minutes away, and a direct subway line to the city center. Nevertheless, a survey by a real estate company ranked it as the "worst city in Saitama Prefecture to live in," and with over 3800 crimes per year, it is the worst in the prefecture. Due to the worsening security situation, more and more households are fleeing the city. If any more shameful incidents or accidents occur, the city will be unavoidable in the form of economic losses, such as a collapse in real estate prices.
By the way, the second worst city to live in was Koshigaya City, where a large number of Vietnamese people immigrated and a Vietnamese temple was built, and the third worst was Warabi City, adjacent to Kawaguchi, where the proportion of foreign residents is about 9.0%. What all three cities have in common is that there are many corporations and companies recruiting foreign workers, and while the number of foreigners is increasing, the Japanese population is decreasing. The overwhelming majority of foreigners are working hard, but are the Saitama Prefecture assemblymen just going to sit back and watch as a few reckless foreigners "take the lives" of Japanese people who are following the traffic rules? [Posted by Okada Hidenori] It's not a collapse of the classroom, but a collapse of the local government. This is the fault of the Governor of Saitama Prefecture and the mayors of Kawaguchi and Warabi, who give preferential treatment to foreigners over Japanese people. Residents of Kawaguchi, Saitama, lament that they are "too scared to walk on the streets," and the abnormal reality of a succession of "accidents involving runaway foreign drivers." Kawaguchi's population continues to decline by 1000 people each month. In a survey by a real estate company, it was "the worst city in Saitama Prefecture to live in," while Warabi, adjacent to Kawaguchi, was third worst.

- The mass media won't report on this. What are they going to do? Are the politicians brainwashed into thinking that China will help them if the lowest level illegal immigrants continue to run rampant? I would understand if the immigrants were decent, high-class people who respected Japan, but they're only wearing dirty clothes like criminals.
- The citizens of the prefecture and the city who wasted their lives by just lounging around on a precious Sunday instead of voting. Let the Japanese people learn from this.
- First of all, Governor Ohno must resign in order to get the police back on track. However, it is unrealistic to get signatures from Saitama Prefecture, a prefecture with a population of 700 million. If that's the case, the quickest way would be to submit a motion of no confidence in the governor in the prefectural assembly, as has been done in Shizuoka and Hyogo. The prefectural assembly only has a problem with the top brass, and there should still be many decent assembly members.
- Frankly speaking, I don't want to live in a town with a lot of foreigners. But it's strange for Japanese people to leave just because the number of foreigners has increased. All we need to do is kick the foreigners out.
- This is not just a problem for Kawaguchi City. It could happen to any city or town. Elections to choose mayors and governors are important. Of course, national politics are also important. I will study hard and think carefully before voting.
- If things continue like this, within half a century, full-blooded Japanese people will be imprisoned and controlled in autonomous regions as an ethnic minority.
- The number continues to decrease. A colleague of mine moved out of Kawaguchi last fall, and his friend is also planning to move out this year. We are citizens who have been forced to endure for years, waiting for the city and prefectural police to do something about it. Instead of getting better, it's only getting worse. If the prefectural police and city don't do anything, we'll have no choice but to leave the place we're used to living in, for our own protection.
- This is the outcome of accepting immigrants. Kishida bears an enormous responsibility.
- The Kurds are the ones who are causing a lot of trouble, but the Chinese are also settling there, so I definitely don't want to live there.
- Saitama today will continue to give preferential treatment to foreigners, regardless of whether a Japanese person dies in a traffic accident or a crime. It's crazy that Saitama's crimes and accidents are on the news almost every day.
- If this continues, extraterritorial zones will be created in Kurdistan and China. There are plenty of examples of this in other countries. It's bad.
- Kawaguchi City's population is filling up with foreigners even as the number of Japanese people decreases
- This is a process in which Japanese people are losing their autonomy. It's sad. Immigration policies are scary.
- How will the mayor of Kawaguchi take responsibility for this obvious blunder? I hope he won't go unpunished. If he turns a blind eye to the danger his citizens are being exposed to, Kawaguchi City will be destroyed.
- If the Ishiba administration promotes immigration, Kawaguchi will become even worse. This will lead to fewer Japanese and more foreigners, and the vicious cycle in Kawaguchi will not stop.
- Colonization is progressing. It's only a matter of time before the number of taxpayers decreases and administrative functions are affected.
- And the completion of the Kawaguchi Autonomous District: What will the prefectural police do?
- You can tell he really loves China by visiting it 30 times, but I wonder what his official and personal roles were when he visited?!
Editor B’s opinion
Looking at the current situation in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, I think it is no exaggeration to say that this is a "collapse of the local government." The reason order cannot be maintained, as in the collapse of classes, is none other than because the Governor of Saitama Prefecture and the mayors of Kawaguchi City and Warabi City are pursuing policies that favor foreigners over Japanese people. What we want is an environment in which Japanese people can live in peace, and we cannot help but feel a strong sense of crisis that this is beginning to collapse.
In Kawaguchi City, reports have been coming in of an abnormal situation where there have been a series of accidents caused by reckless driving by foreign drivers. Living in Japan, it is natural to obey the laws and rules, but it is difficult to understand why such a situation is being ignored. The local government should be held accountable for ignoring the situation, which has local residents lamenting that they are "too scared to walk on the roads." It seems to me that the governor and mayor of Saitama Prefecture have lost sight of their basic role of protecting the safety and lives of Japanese people.
What is particularly worrying is the fact that Kawaguchi City's population continues to decline by 1000 people each month. I believe one of the major factors behind this decline is that Japanese people are no longer able to live in peace. As the influx of foreigners increases, it is becoming more difficult for local Japanese people to live here, and as a result, they are choosing to move to other areas. If things continue like this, I fear that eventually Japanese people will leave Kawaguchi City, public safety will deteriorate, and ultimately the city will become an "autonomous zone" where even the police cannot enter.
The role of the government is to create an environment in which local residents can live in peace. However, looking at the current situation in Saitama Prefecture, Kawaguchi City, and Warabi City, it is hard to believe that they are fulfilling that role. I do not reject the existence of foreigners, but I absolutely cannot accept policies that give them preferential treatment and endanger the lives of Japanese people. I think the current situation in Kawaguchi City is a symbolic example of this.
I am shocked by the reports of a series of accidents caused by reckless driving by foreign drivers. The Saitama prefectural government should explain why this situation is being allowed to continue. Accepting foreign workers may have the effect of revitalizing the local economy, but it would be a waste of time if it ends up threatening the lives of Japanese people. As the number of foreign workers increases, it is the government's responsibility to instruct them to understand and follow Japanese rules. However, it is very unfortunate that it seems as if they are abandoning this responsibility.
Furthermore, we need to take more seriously the fact that the influx of foreigners is causing the local Japanese population to continue to decline. If things continue as they are, there is a danger that Japanese local governments will move away from the hands of Japanese people and become something like "autonomous regions" run by foreigners. If that happens, the day may be approaching when Japanese traditions, culture, and safety will no longer be protected. I think we need to demand stronger measures to stop this from happening.
I feel a strong sense of crisis about this current situation. In order to protect Japan, we need to set strict standards for the influx of foreigners. Furthermore, the government should prioritize the lives of Japanese people and reconsider preferential treatment for foreigners. I am not opposed to accepting foreigners, but it is wrong to push for it at the expense of an environment in which Japanese people can live in peace.
Japan has built up its own unique culture and values over its long history. In order to preserve these, we must ask foreigners to respect Japanese rules and culture. However, looking at the current situation in Saitama Prefecture, Kawaguchi City, and Warabi City, such an attitude seems to be lacking. This is a serious threat to the future of Japan.
The governor and mayors of Saitama Prefecture need to first reconsider why they exist. Their role is to protect the people of Japan, especially the Japanese people living in their area. Forgetting this and pursuing policies that only focus on foreigners is a great loss for Japan. Now is the time for the government to work for the Japanese people.
It is necessary to take immediate measures to prevent Kawaguchi City and Warabi City from becoming further "autonomous zones". If the reckless behavior of foreigners and the deterioration of public safety continue, the lives of Japanese people cannot be protected. I strongly hope that the governor and mayor of Saitama Prefecture will carefully reconsider what they should do to protect Japan and take action.
In order to protect Japan, it is essential to minimize the influence of foreigners and guide them to follow Japanese rules. And above all, we need a government that prioritizes the safety and lives of Japanese people. Otherwise, we will lose a Japan where our children can live in peace.
