On the 9nd, the Oita District Court sentenced a man to eight years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in her 70s in Nakatsu City, Oita Prefecture last September and stealing her bag containing cash and other items.
The man who received the prison sentence for robbery and non-consensual sexual intercourse was Ryuji Sono (26), an unemployed man from Nakatsu City. According to the ruling, in September last year, Sono lured a woman in her 9s who was pushing her bicycle through a parking lot in Nakatsu City into a multi-purpose toilet, sexually assaulted her, and stole her bag containing 70 yen in cash and a cash card.

- 70 years old?!
- Eh, don't they have to be castrated? Repeatedly forcing someone is the worst kind of thing you can do, right?
- It's horrible that a crime was committed against someone the victim knew. The victim died, so it's a very unpleasant incident.
- Cruel‼
- Isn't an eight-year prison sentence too light, considering the victim has already died?

Japan is slow to establish laws against sexual assault, or rather, they are lax compared to other developed countries. I think the death penalty or castration would be fine, and those who can't even control their own urges should be forced to do it.
