Here’s an insider report on what’s going on behind the scenes to bring Internet Archive services online: www.reddit.com/r/internetar...
Insider Report

I am in town (SF) for our events next week, I talked to many people with more to come, and I'm sneaking out this verified fact:

People are working so incredibly hard.

The teams have getting the site back secure and safe as the number one priority. They have taken no days off this past week. They are taking none this weekend. There is a small set of people working on organizing the events next week. The rest, the developers and admins, this is all they are doing.

The vast amount of our patrons understand the situation. A few do not and seem to think we are not doing this work literally round the clock. I spent today talking with tired and thoughtful people putting their all in.

If someone out there was to do some grand gesture for this team, let me know. Otherwise, be assured: they are working with all of their energy and considerable talent.

It's pathetic. We are reliving the burning of the Library of Alexandria just for attention.
Internet archive is back service online
thank you for hard works I can't wait to have the rest of the Internet Archive's services to be online for us
Hurry up bro, we're waiting, its been 1 week, and I wanna research that one Malware in particular
I'm glad to hear you're getting your site up and running. I nearly cried when I couldn't ask it three days ago.
I am really sorry that someone attacked your site. I love your site and I love the whole idea of what you do for the world. Going to follow you here to at least try and show my support. I hope you sort it out soon I miss you.
I knew nothing about this until yesterday, and I read that ‘a user authentication database containing 31 million unique records also stolen in recent weeks.’ Was there a plan to notify subscribers about this?
Honestly, I wouldn't blame you if you took the weekend off. We don't need you working yourself into such a frazzle that you have a nervous breakdown in a couple weeks because someone spilled some milk. (The lactose intolerant may spill apple juice if they prefer.)
Do take a day off. The restoration process is long, but we're all better off if you rest when you need rest.
Thank you for all your hard work!!
It sucks that the Archive went down RIGHT as I was about to get FighterMageBard, but I respect the grind you guys are going through to get the site back on!
I hope those people are getting enough sleep and I think after this give them a much deserved vacation or something as a thank you
As much as I desperately want the Internet archive to return, I really don't want anyone to experience burnout. Take a day off, it's not worth your health.

Thanks for the update. It's missed that's for sure!
Thank you to every last one of you, not just for working your ass off to get the site rolling again but for the fact the site exsits at all You all made what is one of the most important and valuable resources on the entire planet
Thanks and gratitude. However long it takes, that's low long it takes. It concerns me that the bad actors who did this are seeing all of this, your posts and our replies. But I'm glad if they see the love and support you have.
I pray for you guys to keep the internet archived up as long as possible. Its so important for history, accessibility, and... EVERYTHING. So much knowledge will be lost. I want to support you guys any ways possible.
Not all heroes wear capes. Best of luck with getting the site back!
what kind of sick fuck would burn down the modern library of alexandrea

That is great for our team that is working tirelessly to bring back the power of IA. This affected me a lot!
Belarussians did it. They are changing the history of the planet 🌍 using me. They all attack me in Belarus. Woman... with gays

Stupid question how do I upload stuff to the internet archive? Also how are you guys gonna avoid stuff like this from happening in the future? Or I guess maybe I shouldn’t ask that beacuse more people will try to hack you then…
Thank you all for everything that you do!! 💖
the feds COULDNT take em out.. lets fucking go (seriously. all of this happened RIGHT after a bunch of governments tried to take the archive down. they CAN'T NOT be the feds)

It can take time to shift things. But this looks like a good start. After all, flowers need a well maintained beekeeper. All you can do is hope the direction feels right and go. Huggles 💫⚘️

I'll be doing a course on the 23rd, so unfortunately I won't be able to jump in to the event that day. But I am going to keep up & possibly increase my monthly donations to the world's ultimate library.
Hmm, this looks unfortunate. Wayback has been invaluable for years to help sniff out evolutions. Will send a bump along after elections.
A few years back I relied heavily on the Internet Archive to get my hands on primary sources for school projects. I can't imagine how hard it would have been for me without your site, I'm rooting for you guys!

I do hope things are resolved soon. I do miss strolling through the libraries on this site.

I run a forum 14 years now on my own, I appreciate what you all have done, doing and will hopefully continue to do. For me it's not money, it's passion and it's something I have learnt from people like you. Internet is powerful today (sometimes too much) but it still needs people like you/us.

Sincerely, bless y'all, you are doing an incredible work, take care
Is there a convenient way to set up a monthly donation? I can't seem to find a way to do it on PayPal.

The commitment to keep this up is inspiring.
The Internet Archive has been part of my daily life for a couple of years now. I’ve probably listened to 300 radio dramas, 20 audiobooks, 10 radio comedy series and watched about 10 old movies. Thank you for what you do.

Gracias por todo perdón por tan poco archivo del internet

Attacking the internet archive is functionally akin to a Fahrenheit 451 book burning. Whoever perpetrated this absolutely needs to be removed from society, dropped naked in the middle of the desert.
