The epic, authentic sounds of blockbuster Hollywood movies is now available for SampleTank. Cinematic Percussion brings you the actual instruments used in “Argo,” the Academy Awards® 2012 Best Picture, “Godzilla” (2014), “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” “Iron Man,” “Watchmen”, “300,” “The Underworld” series, “The Matrix” series, “Dawn of the Dead” (2004) and many more. And more than just the sounds, you get original performances by the musician who played on these and over 100 other films: master percussionist, Greg Ellis.
Cinematic Percussion is really a producer’s dream toolbox loaded with a flexible collection of audio loops recorded at 10 different source tempos, a separate collection of MIDI patterns performed by both Greg and the IK sound design team and course a deep treasure chest of playable single-hit instruments recorded in the SampleTank style using multiple velocities and round robin techniques.
The library was recorded at Ellis’ private studio in the Hollywood Hills employing his personal, custom instrument collection that contains over 300 drums from the traditional to the esoteric.
Only the best microphones and preamps were used to capture these one-of-a-kind instruments not only in super-clean high-fidelity but also to preserve and reproduce each piece’s unique character and personality.
Far from a typical “ethnic percussion” library, Ellis has traveled the world and met with artisans of many cultures to find the most special instruments. “These are NOT the instruments you find in a tourist shop!” Ellis is quick to note. The deep resonance his 38” Javanese Gong reminds one of the lowest “A” note on a priceless concert grand piano. The clarity and complex harmonics of his tuned tank collection along with his finger cymbals, chan chans, gankoguis and kharkharbas is representative of instruments carefully sought out and chosen over decades by a true percussion master with golden ears.
The weight and power of the taiko drum set will stir the soul of anyone looking to energize their music. Add Indian Nagara and Madal drums to Egyptian frame drums to Arabic darboukas and African djembes to create the most vibrant grooves full of color and personality.
What makes the Greg Ellis percussion sound unique is his combining of instruments from different parts of the world where he brings together various drums, gongs, metals and shakers based on timbre rather than on geography. This decidedly non-traditionalist approach is what separates Cinematic Percussion from a typical “ethnic percussion” library.
“My approach is to orchestrate my drums – and this is why I keep getting called back for more film work – using the frequency range of each drum to fit together like an orchestra.” Greg Ellis
Cinematic Percussion is designed to work for any style of music where a kinetic, life-like, human groove from a master musician is desired. Ellis specifically notes, “This library has been inspired by my work in film, by it’s application is meant for all forms of music because of its natural feel and the human element in there.”
Use this vast collection of instruments, audio loops and MIDI grooves to add some Oscar®-winning depth to your music with Cinematic Percussion for SampleTank.
Bionic Drums is a special drum library for SampleTank 4 that combines a modern acoustic rock kit with “bionic” layered elements to add the essential point, punch and girth needed for modern pop, rock and metal productions. All the essential sounds plus 600+ MIDI patterns are here to cover everything from '70s disco to modern prog metal.
After releasing the Beat Machines library earlier this year, IK Multimedia super tuned-in to electronic drum sounds and the clarity and punch they provide. After some good experiments, we dialed in some specific electronic drum timbres that layer especially well with the acoustic kit. This adds a sharp point to the attack, and girth to the body of the drum.
IK Multimedia started with building a first-class acoustic drum kit including golden pieces from Premier, Slingerland, Pearl, Remo, Zildjian, Sabian and more. Bionic Drums have both 6″ and 8″ snares, a full set of 6 toms and 3 rototoms. To this IK Multimedia added some specific electronic drum timbres that layer especially well with the acoustic kit.
The kit was recorded in a great sounding live room with top mics from Neumann, AKG and Sennheiser all through an analog desk. We recorded multiple velocities and tons of round robins, so you get total expression and realistic variation. Separate room mic samples are also provided. Bionic Drums includes macros that let you balance the various kit pieces and the bionic layers, or directly MORPH between the acoustic source and the electronic layer. And of course presets for individual drum kit elements are provided so you can build super custom Multis with total control. There is also a complete set of percussion, mapped to the General MIDI standard.
On top of this, we created a massive library of MIDI patterns for inspiration or instant production. Over 600 patterns are included in Bionic Drums, going all the way from classic rock to modern pop. Enjoy audiophile recordings, complete tonal flexibility, and a treasure chest of MIDI patterns A hybrid kit like no other- Give your music expressive drum sounds with a modern edge that cuts through the mix.
The new SampleTank 4 has been re-designed from the ground up to be every musician’s “go to” workstation for music creation, with a completely new rescalable interface, a massively expanded sample library and a new cutting-edge sound engine with efficient disk streaming,

Ring of Doom is a library of all ring modulation synth sounds with a metallic, robotic quality and even a menacing, sci-fi sound. Ring modulation is a form of amplitude modulation where 2 signals are combined, and the output is both the sum and difference of their frequencies. The result creates wild sideband frequencies like nothing else.
Ring of Doom uses samples of ring modulated sources and then synthesizes them further with the SampleTank engine and effects for an aggressive-sounding, ultra-modern library of pads, sweeps, bells, leads and basses.
The hardware synthesizers used in this collection are extensive: Modular Moog, ARP String Ensemble, Mellotron M400S, Prophet VS, PPG Wave, Roland JX-10, Yamaha TX816, and even a Fairlight CMI.
For most of the sounds, we used a Moogerfooger MF-102 Ring Modulator pedal. But to create the most useful samples, we used the CV input on the Moogerfooger to modulate the internal carrier oscillator to track the keyboard.
So it isn’t just amplitude modulation with a fixed carrier frequency; the carrier oscillator actually moves up the keyboard, changing frequency along with the modulator signal. The modulator is the external signal that gets fed into the Moogerfooger, being the hardware synths in this case.
With surreal atmospheres, bells, pads, sweeps, leads and basses, Ring of Doom brings deeply complex and unconventional sounds.
Erik Norlander the creator is an American musician known for his work in the progressive rock genre with extensive touring and recording credits. He was the co-designer of the legendary Alesis Andromeda analog polysynth among many other hardware synths and drum machines. Erik is IK's resident synth guru and the driving force behind award-winning IK products such as Syntronik software and the UNO line of analog synthesizers.

Fractured Piano a unique library of experimental piano sounds offers a wild variety of altered keyboard sounds. Designed to stir emotion and build tension, the library features sci-fi, cosmic and eerie sounds, action-driven percussive sounds and acid keys, along with dystopian harpsichords and other imaginary or futuristic sounds. It includes 5.4 GB of sample content and 37 SampleTank 4 instrument presets perfect for anything from film scoring to modern pop music production or general funky vibes.
Most of the “Piano Howling” family of presets were created by actually screaming into the piano frame, and some were produced using other tricks. Cymbal Felts were used in different positions pushing and damping the short strings section before the hammers, to produce 4 different sounds (“oscillators” in the sound element) for the “Piano Felt Bass” and other presets using the piano sustain pedal.
A metal pipe was placed on the low octaves to resonate and create an industrial percussive sound, and different metal chains and other objects to create “undisciplined” harpsichords The samples had been subsequently generously “synthesized” and processed with the SampleTank 4 engine, to create several presets. The preset description carries the name of the original (“mother”) sample.
The library was recorded and produced by Filippo Gaetani and Florian Weixelbaumer in the style of the groundbreaking avant-garde John Cage techniques on a beautiful Bösendorfer grand piano recorded at their studio in Vienna, Austria.
Additional editing and sound design were provided by Florian “Flohzirkus” Hager. Vladyslav Hryhoriev contributed with extra presets. Icon artwork by Marco Divic and Filippo Gaetani.
The microphones used for the sampling sessions were: AKG 414, Neumann U47 FET, Shure SM7, Schoeps Boundary BLM 3, CMC 6. Mic preamps: Neumann V 476 B, Api 512C, Manley Dual Mono.
Producer Filippo Gaetani says about the library: For some of these, to produce the extreme low and extreme high-pitched notes of the Piano Howlings, we set a speaker under the piano playing some of my screamed notes, pitched on higher or lower octaves, and Flow had to press the sustain pedal and mute the speaker, to capture only the decay. There were fun and crazy moments.

Electric Grand C70P is based on the Yamaha CP70B electric grand, which was developed in the ‘70s for stage pianists who desired the depth of expression of an acoustic grand piano, but at volumes that could compete with the rest of any band. Though reduced in size compared to a full grand piano, electric grand pianos employed the same action of hammers hitting strings, with their vibrations captured by electromagnetic pickups rather than microphones. Becoming equally popular on stage and in studio, the sound of the electric grand is bright and edgy with a distinctive attack and decay that’s immediately recognizable.
For Electromagnetik, IK Multimedia sampled an immaculate example of a ‘70s Yamaha CP70B electric grand with 8 real velocities across the keyboard. There are no loops, only full-length samples of a revered electric grand piano in prime playing condition.
In Electric Grand C70P, you’ll find something that compares to no other piano. Now you can experience exactly the same sound and expression of the electric grand piano behind the work of Billy Joel, Tony Banks, Joe Zawinul, Peter Gabriel and others.

It includes a 10GB library with 733 instruments spread out across all the instrument categories provided in the full version of Miroslav Philharmonik 2.
And just like in the full version, each of its instruments captures the uniquely human element that has made Miroslav Philharmonik 2 such a go-to tool for composers, soundtrack scorers, producers and more. It gives you all of Miroslav Philharmonik 2's multi-articulation switching instruments. These instruments let you easily access the most used articulations for your chosen instrument type on the fly. You can go from sustained to detache, staccato, legato, pizzicato or any number of other musical articulations without leaving the main instrument. This means that when you select an instrument to play, you won't just hear a note — you'll hear all the passion, pain, joy, suffering and excitement of the musician playing that note.
Miroslav Philharmonik 2 CE lets you enter a nearly infinite world of emotional symphonic sound. It comes with 34 of the best studio plug-in effects from IK Multimedia's acclaimed SampleTank 3 sound and groove workstation. You can control these on their own, or you can take advantage of each instrument's 8 macros that give you quick access to the most commonly used parameters for effortlessly simple sonic sculpting on the fly. It also comes with the ConvoRoom convolution reverb plus 4 professional-grade mastering processors from T-RackS.
The Syntronik Pro-V offers the rich, polyphonic sounds of the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 and Prophet-10. Manufactured from 1978—1984, the Prophet-5 is perhaps the most popular polysynth of its era. It starts with two selectable-shape oscillators per voice along with a noise generator going into a 4-pole low pass filter. Oscillator sync and FM is available which creates many of the classic pop tones for which the Prophet-5 is known. A creative Poly Mod section lets the second oscillator or the filter envelope modulate the pitch or pulse width of the first oscillator for further tonal flexibility.
The Prophet-5 has five voices, and like the Oberheim OB-series and Roland Jupiters, it has a Unison mode where all five voices can be stacked for a thicker sound. And then the rare analog monster, the Prophet-10 is a coveted 10-voice version of the instrument admired by synth aficionados the world over.
The Prophets have been used by a plethora of world-famous artists including, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Vince Clarke, Talking Heads, Peter Gabriel, Genesis, Gary Numan, Thomas Dolby, New Order, Prodigy, INXS, The Cars, Phil Collins, Richard Barbieri, Hall & Oates, Jean-Michel Jarre, Steely Dan, Kitaro, Level 42, Pink Floyd, the Eurythmics, Pet Shop Boys, Vangelis, George Duke, John Carpenter, Kraftwerk and many more."
Syntronik Instruments Pro-VS recreates the sound of vector synthesis from the Sequential Circuits Prophet VS with its 4 digital oscillators through an analog filter. A cousin of wavetable synthesis, vector synthesis allows the mixing of 4 oscillators with X-Y controls for extreme animation and liveliness.
Syntronik 2 raises the bar for virtual synthesizers. It's a massive update to the previous release, adding 11 new synths for 33 synths in total, exciting new, advanced, and much-requested functionality including the new Edit Panel and Wave Set Browser, and a huge number of all-new presets for the 22 original synths taking advantage of all these new features.
The Syntronik SAM is based on the Oberheim SEM synth. Manufactured from 1974-1979, the Synthesizer Expander Module, or “SEM,” is a single voice module containing two variable waveshape oscillators that are mixed together into a 2-pole state variable filter that provides four different filter modes: high pass, band pass, low pass and notch. The SEM state variable filter is probably the second most famous filter in synth history after the iconic Bob Moog transistor ladder filter.
The SEM 2-pole filter has a gentler roll off slope at 12dB per octave than the Moog 4-pole filter at 24dB per octave. This creates a very different filter sound especially at high resonance settings. Synth aficionados generally prefer the 2-pole filter for brass and pads, while the steeper 4-pole filter often works better for basses and leads.
SEMs have been used by Jan Hammer, Joe Zawinul, and film-maker/composer John Carpenter.
The SH-V is based on two mighty Japanese mono synths from the late 1970s, the Roland® SH-5 and SH-2, known for their robust bass sounds and snappy envelopes, making them perfect for bass-heavy music, synth-funk, G-funk, electro, dance music and many more genres requiring solid bass that cuts through a mix as well as leads and sequences that resonate in your head. And of course in Syntronik, they even excel at pads when played polyphonically!
Like the M-Poly, the SH-V includes extensive samples of pulse width sweeps and pulse width modulation of the square waves for a complete representation of these classic instruments.
American Acoustic is the latest audiophile-grade SampleTank instruments collection. IK Multimedia searched high and low to track down an exceptionally great sounding vintage Martin® D28* with its famous spruce top and mahogany neck. It’s hard to find a bad sounding guitar of this model, but we wanted the very best one we could get. We then recorded the guitar in our IK studios in Modena, Italy using the best microphones, preamps and converters available for the project.
We tried many vintage and classic mics and preamps, but the best result came from a super-clean modern pairing of a Schoeps® CMC* small diaphragm condenser microphone and a Prism® Orpheus* preamp / interface.
We recorded the instrument many times using different techniques to find just the right approach. The actual notes themselves had to be performed in a very specific way that when translated to the keyboard or in MIDI patterns still sounded like an amazing acoustic guitar played by a great guitarist. We always kept the top priority of making a true “musical” instrument and not just a perfect recording. The result is a spectacularly natural sounding instrument made for music.
American Acoustic is a comprehensive library of acoustic guitar sounds, with a huge selection of instruments that cover every method of playing from flatpicking, fingerstyle, strumming and beyond. You can even add additional effects like slides and harmonics.
American Acoustic also includes a generous selection of patterns using different articulations including strumming techniques. Combine this versatility with its number of ensemble and experimental combo instruments, and you have an instrument that's a perfect fit for Pop, Rock, Folk, Country, Hip-Hop, R&B and even EDM. Now, no matter what genre you favor, you can have great sounding acoustic guitars at the touch of a button. American Acoustic.

The Code: Urban DNA Kits is the first in a series of SampleTank collections created in partnership with sound designer and producer Donald “Don P” Johnson. Recapturing the DNA that runs through urban music, The Code Volume 1: Urban DNA Kits will become your go-to source for drum sounds that have inspired new dances, trends and the hottest lyrical bars.
The Code Volume 1: Urban DNA Kits covers the current styles of trap, urban R&B, hip hop, and underground trap including the production/musical styles of Drake, Kendrick Lamar, NBA YoungBoy, Roddy Ricch, Post Malone and more. The collection includes tons of haunting melodies, sexy progressions, cracking drums, huge 808s and bass, custom unique vocal samples and floating melodies that are radio-ready right now.
Overall you get 30 construction kits, each provided with two playback algorithms (standard resample for the best audio quality and PSTS from the S.T.R.E.T.C.H engine to sync to the host tempo) for a total of 60 presets. Each kit preset uses the 8 SampleTank macro knobs for instant control of separate HP and LP Filters, a mastering EQ, FET compression and studio plate reverb along with a third resonant LP Filter on the mod wheel for real-time performance.
Each construction kit includes the full mix, music mix and drum mix along with all the individual stems from the multitrack production. You’ll find the full mix on C1, the drum stem on C# and the “music stem” (everything but the drums) on D1. Then you have all of the individual tracks as stems on the remaining notes going up the keyboard chromatically. Starting with kick, then snare, then the next drum and percussion instruments followed by the bass, and finally all the additional pitched stems. This gives you the control you need to build your own songs using just some of the stems from the construction kit, and dropping loops in and out as you please for instant arrangements. The Code Volume 1: Urban DNA Kits is custom-tailored to work perfectly with SampleTank, with its full effects available on the Effects panel for further tone-shaping and customization. All parts are separated and include key and tempo so you can easily mix and match for almost unlimited combinations. When you need that perfect drum sample, 808, synth sound or hit melody, this will be the product you turn to.
There are no throwaway or B/C list sounds in The Code Volume 1: Urban DNA Kits. This is the A-List content hand-picked from a much larger batch of content to ensure you get the best. All the sounds were processed through over 1 million dollars of outboard gear to give you a sonically superior product. Industry-leading converters, outboard FX, filters and processors were used to make this product one of a kind.

Iconic Danish design and methodical German construction come together for Art Deco Piano, an audiophile-grade SampleTank instrument collection that includes over 1GB of content with more than 600 sonically rich stereo samples.
Art Deco Piano is a faithful recreation of a classic 1930’s Blüthner® PH Grand Piano. This is one of the most sonically and visually striking pianos ever made. Its iconic swooping and curvy design comes courtesy of Danish designer Poul Henningsen.
Made without a traditional wood cabinet, its build of metal, leather and other materials offers a bright and modern sound that we captured with a matched pair of Neumann TLM-170R condenser microphones running into top-quality studio preamps.
Art Deco Piano is a sonic experience like no other. And to deliver that experience, IK has worked tirelessly to deliver the utmost in realism. Our team of engineers spent months making sure that every nuance and subtly of this beautiful instrument has been properly captured so that you can use it in your productions and performances. Each note has been meticulously sampled at 8 specific velocities for easy playability. We've also omitted a few notes where necessary to ensure smooth key transitions and uniform tonality across the keyboard. It also includes a model of the actual recorded piano’s soundboard (Piano 4) for SampleTank's Acoustic Resonance effect.
Or, in other words, the realism level is so high that if you close your eyes while playing, you’ll swear that you’re behind the keys, leather and polished metal of one of these remarkable custom instruments in a concert hall or lavish European mansion.
And while Art Deco Piano is based on a piano designed in the past, its bright tonality makes it a fantastic choice for pop, rock, R&B, jazz, classical and just about any other style of music that calls for a lively and aggressive sound."
Brandenburg Piano is an audiophile-grade SampleTank instrument collection that puts you in control of the rich and warm traditional sound of one of the most iconic German-made pianos of all time. It includes over 1GB of content with more than 500 stereo samples that combine to create an unforgettable playing experience. Brandenburg Piano recreates a particularly well-kept 1958 Bechstein 6’8” that our team of engineers found in San Francisco, California. Made of luxurious woods, it has a physical heft that can be perceived in its distinctly resonant tone that’s worthy of the monolithic cultural landmarks it draws its name from — Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate and Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto.
To recreate this piano’s sound faithfully, our team spent weeks capturing each detail with a matched pair of Neumann TLM-170R condenser microphones running into top-quality studio preamps. Each note has been meticulously sampled with at least 6 distinct velocities for an incredibly realistic playing experience. All the beautiful nuances and subtleties have been retained. And, for playability’s sake, we also omitted a few notes where necessary to ensure smooth key transitions and a uniform tonality across the keyboard.
Monumental is the word that will come to mind when you form your first chords with Brandenburg Piano. Its gloriously rich tone makes it a natural choice for when you want to perform and record emotionally deep classical and lush jazz or even add a moody warmth to pop or hip-hop tracks.
The piano has a rare ""musicality"" to it where it now somehow embodies all of the great music played on it over the last half-century. It's rare to find a piano with such artistic mojo. This very special instrument is a must-have for anyone performing or recording serious grand piano tracks. It also includes a model of the actual recorded piano’s soundboard (Piano 5) for SampleTank's Acoustic Resonance effect.
With Brandenburg Piano, you can finally have the sound of one of the true German greats along with the full convenience and sonic flexibility of SampleTank.

Get Rewarded for Every Product You Purchase
Every time you register a qualifying product purchased from an IK retailer, from our online store, App Store or Google Play, you get IK JamPoints™. You can also earn JamPoints™ through other activities and involvement with IK.
The Math, for Non-Math People
IK JamPoints™ are calculated as 5% of the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP excl. tax/VAT) of a product. If you need to check the MSRP of a product, simply go to the Product Features page on our web site and look at the left side. You can also see the MSRP in the IK online store.
For example:
If you purchased a product whose MSRP is $/€229.99, you'll receive 12 JamPoints™ in your account.
Here's the breakdown for JamPoints™ Calculation:
Qualifying Software Products: 8% of MSRP
Hardware Products: 10% of MSRP
Full Mobile Apps: 5 JamPoints, not based on %
In the spirit of rewarding you, we always round up to the nearest point.
If you own more than one IK product, you will receive BONUS points. Bonus points are calculated by associating a percentage to the current number of products you own. Each additional product earns an extra 3% incrementally of bonus points. Here's what that means:
1 Product = No bonus points
2 Products = 3% of current point credit added to points calculation
3 Products = 6% of current point credit added to points calculation
4 Products = 9% of current point credit added to points calculation
5 Products = 12% of current point credit added to points calculation
Let's say you have earned points on 4 previous qualifying IK products. Your new purchase puts you at 5 qualifying products. Your additional bonus points are calculated as 12% of the points which you get from your 5th purchase. So if your 5th purchase is a product with a MSRP of $/€229.99 (ex tax/VAT) you'll receive 12 points for the purchase, PLUS an additional 2 bonus points (12 points for the purchase + 12% bonus = 2 additional points) for a total of 14 IK JamPoints™.
The point is; the more you buy, the more you own, the more you earn, the more you get.
We're here to help you. If you can't find the answers to your questions about this program, please contact us. This is an exciting time to be an IK Multimedia customer, and we sincerely hope that you enjoy participating in the IK JamPoints™ rewards program.

Earn points
That's what it's all about. You buy stuff, you earn points. When you purchase products, either from an Authorized Reseller or from our Online Store, you earn 5% of the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (excl. tax/VAT). We calculate this at the time of registration of the serial number on our web site. You can check your accumulated and individual totals at any time by logging into your user area on the IK web site, and clicking the JamPoints Rewards icon. JamPoints™ have no cash value.
Get Rewarded
Once you earn points through the system, they show up automatically in your User Area. You can redeem your points easily while shopping in the IK Store or the AmpliTube Custom Shop. During your order, you will be required to login with your IK Username/Password. Once logged in, your current JamPoints™ will be visible. Use them to save up to 15% on items $/€99.99 and under, and up to 30% on items $/€100 and over. It's really that easy. NOTE that JamPoints™ expire after 24 months at the end of the quarter. On the JamPoints™ page in your User Area, you can simply move your mouse over your displayed JamPoints™ to see when they will expire.
License Transfers and JamPoints
When a product has been transferred, either by using a License Transfer Credit in your User Area > My Products or by IK Multimedia Support/Service, the JamPoints earned for that purchase will be removed upon completion of the transfer. If those JamPoints were not used from the transferred product, those JamPoints are removed from your account and are not transferred to the new user. If those JamPoints were applied to an order and the product was then transferred, that will cause your JamPoints total to enter a negative state. This will be reflected by a negative (-) value in your User Area > JamPoints and when viewing the online store or Custom Shop. Registering new qualifying products will reduce the negative value, eventually reaching 0 or higher.
Non-Qualifying Items
Second hand purchases, In-App purchases, iLine cables, NFR (Not For Resale) versions, OEM versions, discontinued products, license transfers, merchandise (including clothing), Sound Download Reactivations and books. Generated JamPoints Promo codes cannot be combined with other IK coupon code, other discounts or specials. All points are non-transferable.

Orchestral Percussion takes traditional percussion instruments to a whole new level of realism, playability and audio quality. Users of Miroslav Philharmonik 2 and SampleTank will get the majesty of full-range, dynamic timpani, the stirring power of a massive 36” gran cassa orchestral bass drum, the unmistakable punctuation of symphonic chau gongs and piatti cymbals. Also included are the ultra-stylized articulations of three different classical snare drums along with flexible variations of sleighbells, tambourines, triangles, castanets, ratchet, bell tree and many other instruments performed with multiple round robins and recorded with pristine audio fidelity.
Orchestral Percussion is the sequel to IK’s much-acclaimed Cinematic Percussion Instrument Collection that is now being used on film, TV and pop productions the world over. Specific instruments were chosen for Orchestral Percussion to perfectly complement the Cinematic Percussion set with no redundancy or overlap. Like Cinematic Percussion, IK again enlisted master percussionist Greg Ellis, known for his work on countless Hollywood blockbuster films, to perform the more traditional classical instruments of the Orchestral Percussion Instrument Collection. Musicians should use the two collections together for an unrivaled treasure chest of percussion resources.
The timpani are at the core of Orchestral Percussion. Recorded in stereo at a top Hollywood studio using a carefully constructed array of top-quality Neumann® microphones placed at both mid-front and overhead positions, the timpani have both the presence and subtle ambience necessary to fit into any production from strict classical renditions to epic film cues to punchy pop tracks.
All instruments in Orchestral Percussion are provided with multiple round robin samples thus avoiding the “machine gun effect” of triggering the same sample over and over. By firing off unique samples for each received note, players will achieve a level of realism only matched by playing the actual physical instruments. Furthermore, multiple velocities are provided for the instruments to give them maximum dynamic range and tonal depth.
Orchestral Percussion also includes over 100 MIDI patterns and over 400 audio loops covering “difficult-to-program” rolls, crescendos and other dynamic performances. Players can work with these files directly in Miroslav Philharmonik 2 or SampleTank, or drag them into the DAW timeline for further editing.
Orchestral Percussion is the essential expansion to Miroslav Philharmonik 2, and it is the perfect companion to Cinematic Percussion for SampleTank. It is voiced for modern symphonic composition with a presence and punch that is also suitable for pop, Hip Hop and even EDM tracks. Orchestral Percussion will add a powerful symphonic quality to any kind of music, and between the sounds, loops and MIDI patterns, this instrument collection works with any kind of production approach.
Alien Harbours delivers a cinematic collection of atmospheres, pads and sweeps created using elaborate fullpatch samples from the Oberheim Matrix12, Sequential Prophet-VS and Prophet-5, Waldorf Microwave I Rev A, Korg DW-8000 and Alesis Andromeda. Also included are bonus leads and bass presets ready to add further depth and breadth to your music.
As the title suggests, these are meticulously produced cinematic atmospheres. And though the synths listed above are included in Syntronik 2, we deliberately saved these unique samples for this highly-stylized library. These full patch samples are extremely specific to this sprawling cinematic kind of sound and designed to take your music to new places.
The sample content was excluded from Syntronik due to the size of the sample sets and their superspecific stylization. This ultra-stylization comes alive in Alien Harbours where these beautiful hardware synth patches are further colored and animated using the SampleTank synthesis engine and effects.
In addition to atmospheres, pads and sweeps, Alien Harbours also includes an assortment of leads and basses derived from creative re-programming of the same source material. We've made extensive use of start point edits and multiple filters to create a vast array of electronic timbres.
No matter what style, whenever your music needs depth, vibe or color, Alien Harbours will become your first port of call.

Malletension is the dark companion to the Malletopia library. Where Malletopia is beautiful, clean and ethereal, the Malletension library has been expertly processed to bring out a more aggressive, twisted and otherworldly character. It includes 3.5 GB of sample content and 100 SampleTank 4 instrument presets perfect for contemporary scoring or edgy modern pop and EDM productions.
Malletension includes a marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel and orchestra chimes (aka tubular bells) played using an expert player’s assortment of mallet varieties of yarn, felt, wood and metals processed with both vintage analog and state-of-the-art DSP tools.
The source instruments were recorded with deep round robin techniques so that each SampleTank preset plays and sounds like a dynamic, living instrument, even with repeated notes. No '90s rompler behavior here.
Malletension takes these audiophile samples and stretches their natural harmonics, envelope shapes and transient responses to create futuristic chromatic percussion sounds that do not currently exist in the real world.
How about a xylophone that is playable across the whole 88-note grand piano range, sounding musical and inviting on every note? Malletension has it and more. If you are looking for a marimba or tubular bell that sounds excited and bent and far from an ordinary boring acoustic tone, Malletension is for you. If you can use a vibraphone and glockenspiel with impossible harmonic overtones and hauntingly ethereal modulation, Malletension is waiting. Add tension your sonic arsenal with this memorable collection of far out percussion sounds and variations.

Syntronik’s Bully recreates the thunderous bass sounds of the Moog Taurus series. This organ pedal-style synthesizer is a much-treasured chapter in synthesizer history. The first version of the Taurus became an instant classic in the mid-70s with its distinctive oscillator detuning and unique-sounding sawtooth waveforms. The Taurus II, was based on the Moog Rogue and was never as popular despite much added functionality.
The third version, released 35 years after the first version, recaptured much of the glory of the original design along with some additional modern functionality. All three versions of the Taurus are represented in Syntronik.
The slow-sweeping low pass filter with little or no resonance is a signature Taurus sound with its massive low end. Famous users were Rush, Yes, Genesis, U2 and the Police.
The Syntronik Instruments Cato captures the distinctive analog sounds of the Octave Cat SRM and its SSM filter. The pure-analog tonality of this synth is huge, and its modulation capabilities allow for truly unique and stylized timbres. Able to create gigantic Moog-style basses, the CAT can also go in its own sonic direction with its clever oscillator sync implementation.

The GS-V represents the groundbreaking FM sounds of the ultra-rare Yamaha GS1. Fewer than 100 units were produced of this behemoth synthesizer that resembles a baby grand piano, and weighs nearly as much. A pioneering digital synth with a lush analog ensemble effect is reverently recreated in Syntronik 2.
Syntronik’s Harpy 260 recreates the unique character of the ARP 2600. Manufactured from 1971-1981, the ARP 2600 is without a doubt one of the finest analog synthesizers ever produced and is semi-modular in that it has some fixed routings but could also be more unconventionally routed using patch cables and the modular-style jacks on the main panel.
The 2600 has 3 oscillators and a single low pass filter that went through different iterations. Sound designer Ben Burtt used an ARP 2600, combined with his own voice, to create the voice of R2-D2 in the Star Wars films. Burtt also used the 2600 to create the sound effects of the Ark of the Covenant in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The sound of modern salsa at your fingertips. Salsa Percussion Loops is a genre-authentic audiophile sound library for SampleTank 4 in our new series of multitrack audio loops libraries. Created by acclaimed Cuban Producer and Musician Alex Rivas, each preset contains the full mix on note C1 with the stems of each track provided chromatically going up the keyboard.
The best SampleTank effects from T-RackS, AmpliTube and Syntronik are assigned so that the user can instantly filter, EQ and compress each preset to taste using the SampleTank macro controls. An additional resonant low pass filter is assigned to the mod wheel for real-time performance.
Salsa Percussion Loops gives you the real-world tools you need for any part of the arrangement of a salsa song. You get all the percussion instruments necessary to make a salsa song from beginning to the end: timbales, congas, timbale with kick and snare, bongo, multiple types of hand bells and guiros. Intro, Verse, Cascaras, Fill, Chorus, Pre-Chorus, Cha-Cha and Cuban Style Bomba are all waiting for you.
Salsa Percussion Loops also includes a playable “Salsa Percussion Kit” preset with 59 different percussion timbres that lets you play on top of the loops, or use them to build your own Latin percussion tracks from scratch. All in all, you get a total of 155 presets for SampleTank 4.
Producer Alex Rivas says about the library, “After years of struggling to find an authentic sounding salsa library, I decided to create my own with a modern approach and inspired by current salsa artists. I carefully chose the musicians, instruments and gear to make this project come to life, so now you, too, can make your own genuine salsa songs.”
Authenticity is key to Salsa Percussion Loops. The recorded musicians are straight from Cuba, Venezuela and Colombia. These three countries have one thing in common: They live and breathe salsa music. Alex and his team recorded the most common rhythms and parts of a salsa song, so you are covered no matter what you need. And as a Cuban native, salsa music is in Producer Alex Rivas’ blood, and he knows you will feel it, too.
Looking for an authentic and modern salsa percussion library? Salsa Percussion Loops is all you need to create a salsa song from beginning to end. Audiophile 24-bit recordings using top studio gear from Neve, API, Avalon, Universal Audio, AKG, Mojave and more. The loops are recorded at three different classic salsa tempos — 95, 100 and 105 BPM — so every preset is unique. Additional presets using the SampleTank PSTS engine are provided to automatically sync to any host tempo.

Vector Vision brings vector synthesis to SampleTank in an animated, motion-filled library of presets that recreates the sound of “vector synthesis” made famous by the Sequential Prophet-VS and Yamaha SY22, which were the next generation of wavetable-based synths like PPG Wave and subsequent Waldorf products.
For the included waveforms, we've included samples of a wide selection of hardware instruments, everything from the Mellotron 400S to the Fairlight CMI, Oberheim OB-X, Yamaha TX816, Rhodes Mark I electric piano, analog and digital vocoders, and of course the Prophet VS itself.
The idea of vector synthesis is that you have 4 waveforms set at different points, like the 4 corners of a square. Then a modulation source its “vector” to emphasize particular waveforms. Since the vectors are in a 2-dimension X-Y space, the sound evolves as you move away from one waveform toward another. This is a contrast from wavetable synthesis where the waveform hard switches from one timbre to the next.

Malletopia features a vast assortment of chromatic percussion instruments. It includes marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel and orchestra chimes (aka tubular bells) played using an expert player’s assortment of mallet varieties of yarn, felt, wood and metals. In addition, the sounds were matched with sampled spaces created using rare and vintage reverbs. It includes 8.5 GB of sample content and 125 SampleTank 4 instrument presets of exotic timbres that fit into cinematic, pop or even electronic productions.
Most all-in-one sample collections include a marimba and vibraphone and, if you're lucky, a glockenspiel and xylophone and perhaps even orchestra chimes. But what you don't normally get is the variety of each instrument played with different mallets at multiple velocities. Malletopia contains top source instruments that were captured with an articulated assortment of mallets.
A marimba struck with a hard yarn mallet sounds vastly different than a marimba struck with a felt mallet or wooden mallet. You'll even find hits recorded using metal mallets on instruments like vibraphone that normally don't call for such articulations, providing you with more exotic timbres that fit into cinematic, pop or even electronic productions.
The source instruments were recorded with deep round robin techniques so that each SampleTank preset plays and sounds like the real thing, even with repeated notes. Malletopia is definitely not just a rigid library of classical and jazz sounds. In addition to sampled instruments, you'll find lush atmospheres from several highly sought-after vintage hardware reverb units. The sampled spaces are utterly controllable with all of SampleTank’s filters, envelopes and other synthesis functions.
And the sampled spaces are also provided without the mallet instruments where they create utterly vibey pads and even vocal-like atmospheres of their own. Use these atmospheres as drones, effects or ambient backgrounds in any kind of music, anywhere you need a lush setting full of character or instant spacey mood.
No matter what kind of music you produce, Malletopia provides the vast assortment of chromatic percussion color to fit any track. Whether you are an electronic music producer, a classical composer, a jazz orchestrator or a pop artist, Malletopia expands your sonic universe into new reaches with the ultimate collection of chromatic percussion sounds and variations.

Expand your sound collection with two iconic synthesizers from long, long ago, to create sounds far, far away from the ordinary. The new Spaceport ‘77 Collection welcomes two familiar keyboard characters, the OB-1 and CP-30 to give your tracks some ‘70s and ‘80s sci-fi flavor.
Newly recorded and programmed to take full advantage of all the features of SampleTank 4’s new sound engine, this expansion library adds 100 new instrument presets and 3.9 GB of samples covering two classic analog keyboards. A great complement to both the modern synth sounds and classic electric piano sounds already in SampleTank 4’s library, these new sounds further expand your sonic library.
The Oberheim OB-1 is an early monophonic analog synthesizer released in 1978 with two discrete oscillators and suboscillators, along with a noise generator. A discrete lowpass filter can be either 12dB or 24dB per octave, for both a classic Oberheim 2-pole sound and the legendary Minimoog 4-pole sound. Notable users of the OB-1 were the composer and musician Vince Clarke and the bands Tangerine Dream, Rush, and The Grid.
The Yamaha CP-30 is an electronic piano from 1976 that uses analog synthesis sound generation. The CP-30 has a Decay control knob that can be used to simultaneously adjust attack and decay parameters not unlike those of a regular synthesizer's ADSR envelope. Two tone-generation systems, each with independent decay control, let users like Herbie Hancock, Fleetwood Mac and The Cars conjure up unique sounds using modern synthesizer techniques.
The combination of the Yamaha CP-30 and Oberheim OB-1 creates wonderfully spacious and timeless tonal possibilities. Electric piano, clavichord and harpsichord timbres from the CP-30 combine with the lush discrete analog oscillators and filters of the OB-1 layered in as dimensional pads and evolving sweeps. Further filtering from SampleTank 4’s analog modeled and modern digital filters extend the color palette even further. Then add in the deep effects rack power of SampleTank 4 for expansive reverbs and otherworldly chorus ensemble and phasing effects along with audiophile EQ and compression for a high-end cinematic sound worthy of the biggest blockbuster sci-fi feature films.
These two keyboards belong to the personal collection of IK sound designer and synth guru Erik Norlander. Immaculately maintained and sampled, they deliver all the character of the original instruments.
Carefully programmed to take full advantage of all the features of SampleTank 4’s sound engine, these instruments offer pre-programmed control macros, sound effects, and more, to give you immediate inspiration and endless flexibility.
99 is Syntronik’s take on the Yamaha SY99. Manufactured in the early 90s, the SY99 has 16 voices with 4 elements per voice that can be either AWM (samples) or DX-style FM synthesis.
A digital filter and powerful effects processor round out the sound for a polished and sophisticated tonality that is often complex and evolving, especially with pads. The usual FM electric pianos, bells, mallets and basses are of course also available, and somehow all of these sounds just a little better in the SY99. It has been used by Vangelis, Chick Corea, Brian Eno, Toto.
Syntronik includes only FM sounds from the SY99, and its representation in the library is vast and extensive.
The Syntronik Blau recreates the powerful wavetable synthesis sounds of the PPG Wave. Manufactured from 1981—1987, the Wave uses a digital sound generation system combined with analog filtering for a unique hybrid sound. Small digital samples are organized into “wavetables” in place of traditional analog oscillators. The wavetables can be scanned, meaning that an envelope, LFO or other modulation source can advance through several different sounds on the same note. This results in a distinctive and highly animated tonality that noticeably contrasts with analog sound generation.
Add to this the aliasing of the samples – 8-bit in the Wave 2.2 and 12-bit in the 2.3 – for further personality and identifiable style.
The analog filters bring a warmth to the otherwise fairly glassy and harsh sound of the wavetables, and the result is a classic synthesizer sound that stands on its own in synth history.
The PPG Wave has been used for years by some of the greatest names of the 80's (and beyond!) including a-ha, Alphaville, David Bowie, Go West, Trevor Horn, Propaganda, Jean Michel Jarre, Marillion, Level 42, Art of Noise, Rush, Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, Robert Palmer, Psychedelic Furs, Tangerine Dream, The Stranglers, Talk Talk, Tears for Fears, Steve Winwood, Stevie Nicks, Thomas Dolby, Ultravox, Wang Chung and many others.

Groove production in IK's SampleTank 4 is easier than ever, thanks to four powerful new tools. Use the Arpeggiator to draw patterns up to 16 notes, then adjust velocity, length, and swing. Fire up the Strummer section to create realistic guitar chords, with complete control over key, chord positions, strumming direction, and more. With the Pattern Player, you can browse MIDI patterns and map them to different keys that you then trigger on the fly. And similarly, the Loop Manager lets you assign or trigger hundreds of loops, with access to a complete range of controls.
Live mode injects excitement into any performance
Want to use SampleTank 4 for live performance? No problem. Its Live mode makes building an entire set list easy, while supplying you with the controls you need on stage. Organize a set list quickly and easily by saving Multis by song. Assign a unique program change message to each sound to move between sounds from your MIDI controller or keyboard. Beyond that, drag-and-drop functionality allows you to change your set list on a whim. You can assign each Multi its own tempo, allowing you to use the Arpeggiator, Strummer, Pattern Player, and Loop Manager without adjusting any settings. And each Multi has its own master volume control, so you can turn it up for your solo or lay back in the groove when it’s time — all without adjusting a bunch of settings.
Loaded with 60 great-sounding effects
SampleTank 4 adds 13 new effects for a total of 60 — and since they're derived from AmpliTube and T-RackS, they sound amazing. From realistic tube saturation to analog pedal effects to pro-sounding studio processors, you've got everything you need to craft top-drawer sounds. On top of that, a new modulation matrix gives you high-level control over the organic complexity of your sounds. With it, you can link modulation sources like envelopes, LFOs, oscillators, and even individual instrument elements.
