Day 54: 100 Days of Salesforce Self -Learning Approval Process An approval process in Salesforce is a streamlined way to automate records. It specifies each step of approval, including from whom to request approval and what to do at each point of the process. Salesforce allows the creation of multiple approval processes for different scenarios or requirements. However, only one approval process can be active per object at a time. Approval rules determine the specific criteria a record must meet to initiate the approval process. Components of an approval process. ⏭️Entry Criteria- These are the prerequisites that a record has to satisfy to initiate the approval process. ⏭️Supporting Documents- Some submissions might require additional information for proper review, for example, invoices. ⏭️Approvers- These are the designated individuals with the authority to grant or deny approval. ⏭️Approval Levels (Optional)- Certain operations may require multiple approvals for oversight. ⏭️Approval steps- The stage where approvers review the submission and approve, reject, or request changes based on their evaluation. ⏭️Due dates- These are deadlines for approvals at every step to avoid projects starting late and to pay invoices on time. Cases where approval processes are used 1️⃣Sales Discount Approvals In many organizations, sales representatives require approval for discounts beyond a certain threshold. When a sales rep applies a discount over the predefined limit, the approval request is automatically sent to their manager or the sales head. 2️⃣Human Resource Management Processes such as expense claims, leave approvals and onboarding requests require multiple levels of approval. Having an approval process can ensure smooth workflow and timely decisions, enhancing employee satisfaction and operational efficiency. 3️⃣Project plan and budget approvals Every project goes through stringent approvals before, during, and after completion. Day 3: 100 Days of Salesforce Self-Learning Challenge Email Templates Emails are widely used, and in salesforce it is the main source of communication. This is where you need a template because it becomes easier. In Salesforce, an email template is a layout that allows users to quickly compose and send emails with personalized formatting. You can use an email template to send an acknowledge a lead or a customer that their order has been recieved and someone and you will get back or notify your manager or team about something, or, in cases where you want to send to more than one person, a group. You can easily email template to do this So let's create one step 1. Log in to your Salesforce account using your credentials. Go to setup and search for the email template. Two types will appear. ✔ Classic email templates ✔ Lightning email templates Step 2: Choose the classic template:  Click on the "New Template" button to create a new email template. You'll be prompted to choose the type of template you want to create.  ✅ Text ✅ HTML (using Classic Letterhead),  ✅ Custom (without using classic letterhead). Follow the prompt, and remember to make it available for use. Step 3. In the content editor, create the body of your email template to personalize the content. Use the available merge fields to customize it. Preview and Test: Before saving the template, preview it to ensure that the formatting and content appear as expected. Save the template with a name that relates to the content inside the template, and you are done. Every time you want to use or insert the template, you use it. I love using an email template because it is easier, and you don't have to keep sending or editing content when sending to many people. This is it for today Day 3 is done and dusted, 97 days to go. Product Validation Rule in Salesforce CPQ Validation rules ensure that the combinations of products or the values of quote line fields adhere to specific criteria. If these criteria are not met, users will encounter an error message and will be unable to save their product configuration or quote. In this example, we will create a validation rule based on the following scenario: Scenario: When sales representatives select a quantity greater than one for the SMARTWATCHBAND product on the quote line, they should be prevented from saving the quote line. Error Condition: The product code must be SMARTWATCHBAND, and the quantity must exceed 1. Error Message: "Dont allow to add more than one product ." Now, activate the rule, add the SMARTWATCHBAND product to the quote line, and observe the outcome. I trust this will assist you in understanding the Validation Rule in Salesforce CPQ. Definition: Business hours define the times when your support team is available to assist customers. 2. Configuration: - Navigate to Setup: Go to Setup -> Company Profile -> Business Hours. - Create Business Hours: Click on 'New Business Hours' to define working hours, time zone, and holidays. 3. Multiple Business Hours: Salesforce allows multiple business hours to cater to different time zones or departments. 4. Holiday Exclusions: Holidays can be added to business hours to automatically exclude them from case response calculations. 5. Use Case: Helps in calculating case response and resolution times accurately based on support team's availability. ●Case Escalation Rules in Salesforce 1.Definition: Escalation rules automatically escalate cases to ensure they are handled within the stipulated time frames. 2.
