I can tell you first hand Vito is absolutely full of shit and everyone should demand a refund. He sent me a couple of versions of his comic that all looked the same, the artwork is absolutely terrible and he really doesn’t care. I smelled something fishy from the start of his DMs, a number of months ago he offered people the first 23 (can’t remember the exact number) pages for free as a digital download which was an incredibly weird thing to do. On quizzing him why the art is so bad, and why it’s taking so long, and offering to fix the art, finish the book, and get it out, he became VERY cagey with his replies and would never directly answer a question. I did some digging, which I’m good at.
I deduce that Vito quite early on, due to having no restraint or willpower hence his grotesque obesity, jizzed the money on some kind of stock/bitcoin whatever risk, the point where he offered the first 23 pages as a free digital along with some kind of snivelling apology was when he had problems paying the artist and realised he’d fucked up. He’s been winging and bullshitting everyone since. Only about 4 weeks ago he got in touch and sent me another version of his comic which was exactly the same as the last, not only was it not finished but the last TEN pages hadn’t even been created yet. Let that sink in, that was only 4 weeks ago. In the recorded phone call between him and he said that he couldn’t refund their mere $600 because ‘the moneys gone’ and ‘look if bitcoin or stocks change then things might be different’ or something to that wording. He was quizzed about this by a few people and when Dick mentioned it to him on Dicks show he didn’t deny it and said ‘weeelll, it seems it costs nothing to print a comic so I’ll work it out’ and laughed it off (again wording to that effect) totally taking the piss out of all the backers and especially EVS who kindly helped close out his funding and made him thousands of dollars extra. As you’ll see below when he sent me his comic which was in a complete state and totally unfinished I criticised him about it after turning down my offer to help him get it out the gate (again, weird flex if your book is a mess and your artist has fucked off or won’t work until you pay him) and the very next day he updates his backers on Kickstarter and just FLAT OUT LIED TO THEM about the inking being finished and other bits of bullshit, look at the date on our DMs and look at the date of his ‘update’ on Kickstarter.
When I posted about this before he started bullshitting me even more saying ‘oh oh, it is finished, I just happened to send you an unfinished version when we were talking about it, yea that’s it’.
The guy is a secretive dishonest lying piece of shit and exactly the sort of prick that spoils this space of talented artists and talented writers that are legitimately trying to get their inspired pieces of art funded so they can share it with the world.
If you backed his comic then demand a refund asap.
