Israel-Palestine Cybertracker #8
The latest #cybertracker for the 1 year anniversary of the 7 October attacks is the largest one every created.
There are almost 200 hacktivist groups currently involved in the cyberwarfare aspect of the conflict and I continue to see geopolitically motivated hacktivist groups conducting cyber attacks.
Key Points:
- DDoS remains the most used form of cyberattack, see the map below for claimed locations of hacktivist groups.
- Increasing number of pro-Russian hacktivists are involved in activity to support pro-Palestine groups.
- The core goal of groups involved is the disruption of the day-to-day lives of citizens in targeted countries, large claims are also trying to disrupt the information space and cause fear and uncertainty.
The cybertracker is intended to give a overview of the cyber landscape related to a major geopolitical flashpoint and as such highlights the growing trend of hacktivist activity related to world events.
