Alright cool so since people have moved from just saying that things like "hey guys" is gender neutral to now saying that "hey girls" is infantalizing for some reason can I just say how much I love the word girl. I love saying it and addressing other women with it, trans or cis. "Hey, girl" "how are we, girls" "girl !!" I say it in excess. I outpace even the most stereotypical Californian valley girl. I feel the release of tension in other girls when I say it. Almost as a way of saying "I see you, and this is a safe space for us." It creates such a casual atmosphere between girls so quickly in a way I never could with boys. There really is no vocabulary which forces people to rethink their positions, huh? You can just 1:1 translate the most essentialist statements into trans-inlcusive language and it changes absolutely nothing. This is not how we move past radical feminism. This is the opposite of that.
