Latest update on the DDOS attack from Brewster Kahle (Oct 11 @ 10:22am PT): "The data is safe. Services are offline as we examine and strengthen them. Sorry, but needed. @internetarchive staff is working hard. Estimated Timeline: days, not weeks. Thank you for the offers of pizza (we are set)."

What is going on, IA? I’m jonesing for old time radio
Thank you for your hard work!
Thank god, fuck that Russian retard of a hacker. That dude is a zionist cunt lol 😂
Great. I'm already making many pdf's out of waybackmachine websites that were rather cataclysmic for certain interests many people have that are now only on dead websites, some that are not down but that do not resolve seemingly on purpose, cough
.It really sucks especially when..
1
I meant
a deep encyclopedia of fact based and media based stories that are deeply memoryholed or aren't online and only newspapers.com or newspaperarchives (sic). I gave them 500💰 donations 4 or 5 times in their close to 20 years of existence, donated to u guys b4, not for nothing
1
hopefully, they weren't as large donations because archive/wayback r needed much more 'n it's been attacked on all fronts, local government and Russian muslims (they have an indigenous muslim population, mostly Sufi Islam, normally hackers know who's got links to the government, Archive surely doesn't!
Of course I've been aware of this problem. Hope you guys can restore Internet Archive site and adding a very strong protection agasint hackers. Hope you'll find a way to fix this
1
AS IT IS WRITTEN LET IT SO BE EXAMINING AND STRENGTHENING
Preserve rinse and repeat 💕👏💯
where do i need to go to download citra on my windows?none of the dl links are working properly.
Take care Archivers, enjoy the pizzas!

ننتظر إصلاح أرشيف الانترنت بفارغ الصبر فهناك العديد من مكتبات القرآن الكريم surahquran.com التي تم رفعها عليه
Wishing you all well. 👍 Sorry you have to put in so much extra effort just because of some bad actors.😠
1
It's definitely sad and I think it will be fixed very soon.
1
hopefully it comes back soon (wasn't surprised it was the Palestinian protesters who did it, I mean war criminals attacking neutral 3rd parties, I'm sooooo shocked)

Uhh, as someone who enjoys eating DRYWALL you are wrong, (all jokes aside, idk)
1
Any idea why the hackers did the DDOS attack on IA?
1
Hackavist who apparently think ia is part US government
1
Which sound like the hackavist is very, VERY ill-informed of how IA works in general. Or any library for that matter.
1
I request you please make your site available as i studying for my exam
1
Love you. Gimme back my Dead tapes
1
Just got an account with this platform so I could follow you guys in support. Every piece of media deserves some type of library.
1
Who the actual *fuck* DDoSes the Internet Archive?
2
4
I have hopes that you're also making it possible to counter the spam reviews that have come up recently.
1
Hi I think this is the right time to put a fund raiser on your page: libraries have costs / expenses and you should made this clear now on the page by publishing your balance sheet so users find out what they get and what it costs you so they can participate. That's support.
3
Sir, they hit the archive.
1
Take as much time as you need. Do whatever needs to be done to fortify yourselves against future attacks from obnoxious self-righteous script kiddies.
4
When I saw the service down message yesterday, i genuinely said ‘oh no!!!’ out loud in public Glad to hear you’re doing ok
1
4
Once the site is back up and running anyone who hasn’t updated your ia password please do so and also update your email password just in case and put 2 step verification as well
2
I don't believe in the DDOS attack, it's nothing but grouping of digital feudals,to push liberals out and monetise everything in digital kingdom and initiate knowledge scarcity digitally, prove it's not, kahle, the attacker.
Now that I've experienced the internet without the Internet Archive, I can officially say. Not having a central archive is a WEIRD feeling...
7
Whoever is behind this is the worst type of lowlife.
7
I can’t wait for you guys to get back. I’m kinda lost online without you
4
So why would hackers claim you have ties to Israel when you're only a non-profit library?
1
5
Seriously, if they claim to support Palestine, why would they think you're connected to Israel? There's some research about Palestine (even though it's in maintenance mode or something). And those hackers are Israelis, and that makes it worse.
4
You must be one lonely ass depressed Hacker to hack a website that offers everything for free?. What's wrong with these people 🤣
9
how many days like 2 or three days..?
1
Lol I love all the book lovers offering pizza
2
It sound goods but I really hope you guys are not bending to the will of the government and removing materials from your database cuz they said so!!! How long will it be down? And will you tell us if you made to remove anything?
1
2
I don’t think the government was involved it was a group of hackavists that did plus they are not removing anything but given you believe what are believe I’m gonna let you be you
2
Damn, so sad. Well, I hope this site can get fixed in time.
Good luck and thank you for your service!
1
Once the site is back up, require all users to change their passwords before logging back in.
2
3
I did it just this Wednesday before the maintenance happen
Stay safe, guys! Thank you for the hard work.
2
glad everything is safe, this worried me
1
Does that mean there was not a breach of 31 million names, as reported? That's the data I'm most worried about now. Was 31 million passwords compromised?
4
1
They were only the cryptographic hash of the passwords, however, two words: Rainbow tables. This is also a reminder to everyone, use a unique, LONG password for every website, the longer the better.
I've seen someone on YouTube comment saying it got to be the government or corporations trying to erase history. It should instead be some random teenagers, right? Aren't billionaires able to afford something more dangerous than DDoS and JS injection?
2
2
It a group of hackivist not government the comment is a conspiracy theorist
2
BTW, I think now would be a great moment to start your end of year donation drive and put a big banner on the start page. The case makes itself, as we say in Germany
5
Those are some great words to hear.
2
I sure hope someone has an Internet Archive of the Internet Archive! It's a shame it's limited to just 1 site. God speed.... I love the archive.... come back soon!

It would be great if it were possible for users of the archive to mirror their local caches of IA data (kinda like seeding a torrent after you're done downloading). Every Archive user could in effect be a mini local library, donating a bit of storage and bandwidth to the internet.
1
1
This could be done with IPFS probably
1
Has it already been done? I noticed a project dweb-mirror exists for offline access, but I'm not sure it's able to access IA data when the archive.org site itself is offline
1
I hope there's some kind of device that makes backup tapes and poops them out into a bucket, and that you have one (or two)
1
3
And ships some of these buckets abroad. There are some **** out there that don’t like the truth at all and will go to any length to falsify the past.
3
I was like, "Brewster Kahle is the ATTACKER?" oh wait
1
Time for another donation, as soon as it is safe to do so.
2
I look forward to your being back on line. Your work is essential
5
Belorussians did it. They are changing the history of the planet 🌍 using me , my iPhone.
2
Y'all are doing great work out there, and may the cowards who perpetrated this crime against your hallowed institution feed solely on aquarium gravel and wood glue for eternity.

If u enjoy my contents give me a direct message 🥰🥰

Nobody's interested about your onlyfans, bitch. Go whore somewhere else than fucking IA lol
Glad the information and you are safe!
