Why my old Nexus 5 is more responsive than my OPO?

I have no complaint from my new OPO. However, when I compare it with my old Nexus 5, the Nexus feels (and is-I have checked it) more responsive. I can change between apps faster, go to the home screen faster etc. Why does that happen since OPO is better in every hardware aspect? Is it because of CM vs stock android? Do the extra features of CM come with a cost?

I think the type/number of applications you run and the various settings make a big difference.

Good point. I just tried that but the transitions are not entirely smooth always..

The phone will be much faster if you set the performance profile to 'performance', but will drain battery faster. I suggest you keep it on 'balanced' and enable per-app profiles.

You could reduce the animation duration. It will make it faster.

It feels faster though.

check if there is an update. there were some speed issues a couple months ago and you might just need to update it if you can.

The phone is updated.

There was a video on YouTube a while back from mkbhd showing a nexus and the 1+ on 25r and the 1+ had some delay as compared and it was just a CM thing that has been (mostly) fixed through updates . I can speak from experience though- my One X running cm11 had this delay and was quite noticeable. I then flashed Candykat off XDA which has cm source and there was no delay so it seems to be something in cm builds

If you turn off double tab option under buttons in the setting, you will notice some difference!!

Nexus 5 must be blinding fast because my OPO scrolls faster than my Xperia Z3 and Nexus 9. Nexus 9 is the king when I'm playing games though
