Kia ora to all my LinkedIn connections! Over the past seven months, I’ve been really fortunate to have worked alongside Izilah Mohammed, Yuwei Shen, Kyuwon Kim, Nick Curry, and Ashmita Mirajkar to organise the Social Innovation Conference 2021. Besides the delicious food and drinks (provided by our lovely sponsors Kōkako Organic Coffee and Almighty), we have over 30 inspiring speakers ranging from politicians (ft. Chlöe Swarbrick, Todd McClay, Michael Wood, Brooke van Velden, Adriana Christie, and Elliot Ikilei) to representatives from non-profit organisations coming along to speak, educate and inspire attendees to make a positive social impact within Aotearoa. There are 4 different panel sessions and 3 interactive workshops on offer, covering a diverse range of topics such as public policy, healthcare technology, mental wellbeing, and education inequality.  One session that I've personally been working on is the Future of Work Panel, featuring SINZ-pirational panelists Karen Sue (Deloitte), Mahesh Muralidhar (NZ Scale Up), Vincent Vuillard (FutureWork Studio), and Mary Jo Vergara (Kiwibank)! It’s been over a year since I joined LinkedIn. As a fresh 17 year old, I’ve been waiting for something really special to share for my first LinkedIn post. I've found that something special. Last month, I had the opportunity and pleasure of being interviewed by Irra Lee (Youth Press Gallery Member and amazing person in general) for the Ministry of Youth Development’s first edition of the Youth Parliament 2019 newsletter! This article is a glimpse into my life, how I got involved in Youth Parliament and a few of my passions and interests. Without a doubt, I know that becoming a 2019 Youth MP, representing MP Raymond Huo, is going to be one of the greatest achievements of my life. Already I have learnt more about Parliament than I had hoped for and met many incredible and inspiring peers who share my passion for youth involvement in politics. It’s been an amazing experience so far, and I’m sure it’s only going to get better. I really appreciated being able to share a few of my thoughts on youth engagement in politics. “Going forward, I think it’s important that youth are seen as a positive force for social change who can offer new ways of thinking."
