It took many late nights and dangerous amounts of caffeine, but I am very proud to announce that myself and the Auckland Law School team have taken home First Place in the 2022 ADC International Chamber of Commerce Commercial Mediation Competition! 🏆 I’m very grateful to have had this rare opportunity to develop my ability to tactically advocate, collaboratively yet pragmatically problem-solve, and effectively communicate with those who have very different interests and needs. It has been a tremendously rewarding experience, and such an honour to compete against such highly skilled teams from universities across the world. Of course, none of this would have been possible without such excellent teammates Ayush Sharma, Maria Romero De Medeiros, and Andrew Fu – all of whom are immensely talented, hard-working and supportive individuals ❤ I couldn’t be more proud of our team and I’m overjoyed our discipline, resilience, and continuous pursuit of perfectionism has been recognised. I'd also like to thank our coaches Celia Brownlee and Susie McCluskey. Speaking on behalf of the team, we are so grateful for of all the time you have given up to develop us! Your persistent dedication, attentiveness, guidance, and reassurance has been incredibly appreciated. Finally, I'd also like to shout out everyone else who supported the team along our journey, you are all very much appreciated! As part of taking out the top spot out of 22 competing teams, we’ve secured a reserved spot for The University of Auckland to compete in the 18th International ICC Commercial Mediation Competition in Paris early next year 🇫🇷 We also received the Henry Jolson Prize by the Victorian Bar Association and an internship next year with the Australian Disputes Centre!
