Good shooter with a limited story. I wish games like this allowed you to make characters rather than play story characters. It's a bit weird when you're talking to the same character you're playing during a narrative.

So A lot of negative reviews, and I felt this game and its developers deserved much better than its current score so here's my review.

I had been waiting for something to scratch my warframe itch and TFD did it, very well. I've got over 400 hours and plan to play for a while longer. The developers are AAA in terms of modern developers who connect with their audience. This team is from Korea and have gone so far that they stay late at the office their time so they can push updates when its not prime game time. They listen everyday to community chatter and patch based on what the gamers see as fun, not sticking to what they created thinking its the best. They value our input and have changed the game drastically to make the game actually fun, completly wiping out mechanics they thought were good but not so much in practice. Within a week of season ones opening they patched most major complaints and fixed the rest in hot patches. I believe the actions of these developers are why Arrowhead of Helldivers 2 has rapidly been buffing for fun. Its what the gamers want I think. Enough about the developers though.

At release the game had a few hiccups in terms of balance but have since buffed many classes that needed it as well as buffed many guns in many ways making many new meta builds. You now see descendants using different guns and even builds. The grind to get your gear has been tuned way down. Maxxing out your first descendant and gun takes a little but once you have a farm build you can start unlocking things very fast. Just today I unlocked two new descendants because thatch what I was focusing, also had some amazing RNG, but many days I get side tracked with randoms other things I just decide to do. I just find doing the different missions fun, swapping up descendants and trying different builds. You really do feel the power as you level up.

I would suggest this game to anyone who enjoys the journey more than the destination. To me its not about being absolutely meta. Its about enjoying the gameplay loop, and Im finding so many fun descendants and weapon combos to try out. The thing is there is a big variety of descendants and weapons that are considered "OP" now. Bosses endgame become more mechanic based than tank and spanks. So its not so important that you have the biggest gun or highest dps, its very important that you know the fight. They give ample time for bosses but because most people don't know mechanics they shoot and fill the rage bars up when they shouldn't and wipe the party.... flashback of wow raids lol

The community is mostly console but they seem to be more chill than the pc players I encounter, There's one of two people you meet in dungeons, bosses, missions. The guys who look at a team and leaves based on teammates, the min maxxers, or the crew who sticks it out with whatever team to beat the objective. In my experience then random mix match non meta teams have been the funnest!

If you are a fan of Warframe and Destiny, then this game is for you. Each character has unique abilities, but to unlock the ultimate characters, you need to do a lot of grinding.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
Unique Characters: Each character has distinctive abilities, adding depth and variety to gameplay.
Engaging Combat: The game offers dynamic combat with a range of weapons and skills, similar to Warframe and Destiny.
Frequent Updates: Developers regularly update the game, adding new content and improvements.

Cons:
Heavy Grinding: Progression often requires extensive grinding, which can feel repetitive and time-consuming.
Balancing Issues: Some characters and weapons may feel overpowered or underpowered, affecting game balance.
Learning Curve: The game can be complex for new players due to its mechanics and character abilities.

I really love the game but a suggestion to make a female and male character option for all characters I don't mind the women but I prefer to play as a male bit unfortunately the male characters are not the META characters in the game. Since the female descendant seem to be the best please make it a choice to male or female for any character and I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way.

Its like Destiny and Warframe put in a blender but the devs didnt put in the right ingredients. The gunplay and character abilities are fun. The boss battles are fun. But everything else in the game is just not respectful of your time. Maybe later down the line it will have some better QOL changes to make it better, but as of now its just not worth investing time (I stopped enjoying it around the 35 hour mark but trying to 100% the achievements has me almost at 70). 5/10

TLDR: if you like to no-life looter shooters or spend $$$ or/and look at virtual ass - you're in for a good time. Otherwise stay away. Estimated time to get ~everything~ done = 300-400 hours.

Edit/addition: Dear Nexon, your website is horrendous. Stop trying to push people into using that pile of garbage. Thanks.

Season 1 invasions suck balls - let's play an idiotic memory game. And the invasion bosses require top tier weapon to slay = goodfkinbye players who don't no-life the game. And it's the only way to farm the new character unless you wanna use $20 from ur wallet. ♥♥♥♥ move.
Edit: they adjusted the "puzzles" to be a lot less annoying, it's bearable now. Other problems mentioned are still there.

Ridiculously overpriced shop. Exorbitant prices on some consumables and somewhat overpriced cosmetics. The worst are probably the inventory slots.
Edit: they seem to be adding some of the consumables to the weekly trader on Oct 10th. Hope that improves the situation.

Another issue would be that there's no point in running any other descendant than bunny for 90% of the content unless you like making things slower for whatever reason.
Edit: there has been A LOT of buffs to other descendants, and even though bunny is the pinnacle of farming in a farming game, you can get pretty close on other descendants at some pieces of content.

Story is so bad that I'd be surprised if anyone doesn't skip it.

Cringiest voice acting ever. To the point you swap to Korean to not hear the unbearable garbage they're spitting in English.

The Colossi (giant bosses) are ok. Although in endgame they generally all become basically one shot (2-8 second kills on all bosses except the last one). It sure feels good to have a build or a few to delete these bosses quickly.

Inventory management and the UI in general sucks. I get it that you want console players to be able to use it too, but on pc it's just awful and feels like a huge downgrade from literally any other game.
Edit: they added filters which they later improved and inventory management is in an ok place now. I don't think this is a priority anymore.

The good stuff:
- many ASS
- good graphics, makes ass nicer and shinier
- runs on potato
- very decent modding system (warframe like)
- LOTS of positive QoL changes over the few months that the game was out
- plenty of descendant and gun buffs over time, most are making these migrate from fodder category to usable and even viable
- the idea of having the right character to do the right job is cool
- have rocketman kyle
- cook with blair
- play doom music with ajax

All you do is shoot at the same type of enemies over and over again, but the fights get even longer and more boring as you progress. I have not played such a monotone and repetitive game in a long while. Literally every aspect of this game is boring, the only thing worth mentioning is the character design. But other than a nice figure and alluring clothing, even they are bland. Writing this review was more fun than my 24 hours in this game, no kidding.

I LOVED THE GAME! AND LOVED AJAX (he's the best, my husbando). But its really not worth it until they change a few things. Which is drop rates, you'd have an item with %20 drop rate, but I've done my mission 30 times now and it STILL HASN'T dropped?
The devs intentionally make the grind hard so that you get fed up and buy from the store. After playing about a hundred hours
I'm finally gonna give up cause I HAVE A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ JOB, and for me to make any real progress is to spend 5 hours a day just grinding.

Fun being OP once you got a build put together but the grind for descendant parts are rough. The new descendant looks great to play but after crafting 1/4 of the required parts, all i get from the daily 4 invasion dungeons are that same part for the last 3 days. Its almost like the game is limiting the drops on purpose.

As long as yeah listen to their playerbase this will remain as a good game. They just need more end game content for us that have strong builds.

Game is pretty good. All the negative reviews that you see are made by woke people and warframe shills because of their own wokity woke reasons. Believe it or not one of those reasons being the presence of hot women characters in this game. As for the low population that happens in this game from time to time, it happens to all grindy games because when people finish their set of objectives in one game, they simply move on to a different one. Don't believe me? Take a look at Path of Exile's player count history. As for the crybabies that you see whining about items not dropping, rigged chances and whatnot... they're your typical modern genZ audiences and also warframe's fanboys. They need to get everything fast and wanna become god like within a couple of days, because in warframe, yes things can be obtained in a mere couple of days if you tryhard for it which these no-lifers do. Therefore warframe quickly becomes a boring pile'o ♥♥♥♥ as there's nothing left to do lol.

Are there things this game needs to improve? Absolutely, yes!

Are the devs trying to improve this game and listening to feedback? Absolutely, yes!

This is a very grindy game, so if you're into that kind of thing, you'll enjoy this game a lot. However right now the bulk of the content is the grind for Descendants and weapons. Once that grind is over, not much else to do until the next content drop. The devs are adding more difficult activities and hopefully we'll see harder and longer endgame content like raids.

The two biggest issues are first, the MTX store needs a lot of improvements. Second, the majority of players suck at this game and struggle to clear bosses easier than an entry level Nightfall in Destiny so solo pugging is a nightmare.

Anyway I've enjoyed this game a lot and am excited to see how it continues to evolve.

If you like a game that you must grind for unobtainium, this game is it!
Like doing missions, only to find out afterwards that you are missing an item needed to obtain a reward, this game is it!
Like enhancing a level 63 weapon with two clicks, expecting as weapon with 3 clicks, instead, its makes a level 1 weapon with two clicks by consuming the weapon you are enhancing and not adding the enhancement! Apparently I screwed myself by following a logical path, thinking a level two enhanced gun would then be enhanced to a level three gun. I picked the weapon to enhance (level 2 enhanced Thunder cage, and ended up with a level 1 thunder cage with two enhancements. Basically I got screwed by selecting the gun to enhance, then selecting the newly made weapon. Lets do the math 2+1 =2 and reduces the weapon to a level one, when it was a level 63. Thanks for the clarity in that process!

If you like a game that you spend 50% of your time with load screens, this game is for you!
