Hi to all. i have been letting my hair grow out. and well, i am considering going to a salon and trying to find a short hair style that i could wear as male, or female. plus i want to get it colored.(i am tired of grey/white hair) like to hear what you all think. i don't have any style mags and no printer, so no internet downloads. i am excited but, also scared to cupcake.

Hi michele!

I'm excited for you regarding your potential new cut and color!

Do you have a Fedex Kinkos or something near you? Perhaps you could go there, or a library (if they're still open due to COVID) and download suggestions? The library probably also has some style mags!

Hopefully if people post pictures here, you'll still be able to see them!

Anyway, a couple of questions:

What shape is your face, would you say? If you're not sure, here's a handy dandy guide for figuring it out.

Is your hair pretty thick, or fine?

Curly, wavy, or straight?

If you can answer those questions it will be easier for Me (and probably others) to make suggestions!

Yes Ms. Rachel is right knowing your hair type will certainly make it easier. Just cause some style won't work with fine hair that work well with thick. Cause when you have fine hair often times your hair is more flat and doesn't really hold it's own volume.

Also are you thinking of something that will kind of blend in, or our you hoping to color and style it to stand out a little bit? I hope that makes sense. <3

Enchantrix Rachel and Enchntrix Riley, Thank You BOTH. i would say my face is oval, best i can tell. my cheek bones are high, and my jaw isn't wide but, not narrow. my hair used to be really curly, and was RED(got that from my cupcake) but, now more wavy, and now it's not whit, but not gray, and it's getting finer. i will have to check to see if the closest town even has a library, other town has one so i will see if its open. i saw a cupcake lady the other day that had a style you could wear either way, combed one way feminine, combed the other way, masculine. sort of a pixie. all this scares me right now but, i really want to do this. i am also wanting to get my ears pierced again.
Again Thank You Both, you have helped more than i can say.
Much Love and Respect to you,
michele

I was just thinking again the other day how when shut in for the pandemic and barber shops closed, how great it would have been to grow my hair to my shoulders.... but... I can't. Sucks...;)

If you do a pixie cut with a blondish color, you can style it for a more femme look. And then just let it be a bit more flat other times when your not up to styling it. Blonde is a good color for those with higher cheek bones in my opinion but others may have another input on color.

It's great that you're developing a more feminine style with your hair, Michele!

I'm not much of an expert when it comes to hairstyles because I simply let my hair grow to its maximum length. But there is a somewhat unisex hairstyle called the pageboy which is still a bit on the feminine side. Below are pictures of that style:

* *pageboy hair*, Google image-search, https://www.google.com/search?q=pageboy ... 0&tbm=isch , https://archive.md/fiDKv , https://web.archive.org/web/20211221201 ... 0&tbm=isch .

Interestingly, my own hair started to grow even longer a few months ago. The hair-length that one can see in my November 29, 2005 photograph contained on my below webpage had previously always been the maximum length that my hair would grow. Now when dry and curled-up as you see (I'm naturally curly-haired like that), my hair hangs down to the bottom of my ribcage, and when wet hangs past the top of my intergluteal cleft (i.e., my butt cupcake). What the cause of this is I couldn't presently say, and I haven't yet tried to look up what the possible cause of this might be. Not that I'm complaining, as I'm enjoying having longer hair now.

Let us know how things go, and wish you feminine fun with your hair, Michele!

Hi Enchantrix Riley. Thank You for your suggestions. i never thought about being blonde. it could be a good look. i now have to find a salon that will do my hair , other than a standard male cut. i will be looking for one after the holidays.

Hi Jamie. Thank You for your suggestion on the pageboy style.
Enchantrix Riley suggested blonde for a color, so i will be thinking on that as well. i saw several on the site you gave and a few were blonde. if i do go blonde then i can really be a dumb blonde(hehehe).
i wish i could look half as cute and feminine as you. i just love your pictures.

You can't because it doesn't grow like that, or you can't because life circumstances seem not to allow it?

If it's the latter, couldn't you just pretend you're a mature hippie when you have to dress like a boy?

Hi michele!

I love all the hairstyle suggestions you're getting in here!

If you go to a salon, I would take their advice as far as coloring is concerned. From what you describe, I'd be worried that blonde hair would wash you out. You know what I think would be hot? A silver fox look! Especially if your eyes are a light color, which I kind of assumed they might be because your hair was once red.

Hi Enchantrix Rachel. Thank You for your suggestion. i hate to sound dumb, but what is a silver fox look? My eyes are green, that too i got from my cupcake, along with very curly red hair. my hair is more wavy now, and gray-white. i haven't found that color so far. i like the the pixie, but also the pageboy. i want to pick one that i can style feminine, or masculine.
Again Thank You, everyone has been sooo helpful.

I can't because it doesn't grow. I have to buy my hair. all the medical miracles out there and they still have not really cured baldness? Even minoxidil doesn't work for everyone, and you have to stay on the stuff....

Michele, I think she meant some women who go gray early don't fight it (and... may enhance it?). I can think of one who had a bright, shiny, full head of silver hair by her mid 40s and a cupcake face. Striking woman.
