This is will be Tellica's first location in the state, Velkers said. It's not clear if the company intends to open additional clinics in Washington. Tellica has not yet responded to a request for comment.
Tellica has a total of nine clinics, including locations in Utah; Boise, Idaho; and New Hampshire. It's also planning new locations in Massachusetts, according to documents filed there in March.
Tellica, which launched in 2021, says on its website that it aims to offer a more affordable and convenient alternative to imaging services provided in hospital settings. In Boise, it offers flat rates of $350 for CT scans and $550 for MRI scans, well below what many hospitals charge.
The 57-year-old Michael’s Plaza is now fully leased, Velkers said. Tenants include the 211,000-square-foot shopping center's namesake store Michaels, as well as Ross Dress for Less and the Guitar Center. The plaza has been owned by Cascade Plaza Associates LLC for approximately 40 years.
