On day 300 of the lockdown, I yearned for a journey away from the confines of my apartment. Since travels were and mostly still are out of the picture, I decided to go on a different trip. Magic mushroom truffles, bath bombs, my new ocean wave projector, and a plethora of sex toys sure sounded like the perfect recipe to spice up quarantine.

But before we delve into the world of transcendent orgasms, a word of caution: Never try magic mushroom truffles or any psychedelics alone if you haven’t done it with the guidance of a “Taita”/teacher or a trusted friend in a safe environment. Where I live, magic mushrooms are legal, and I have done several guided ayahuasca and DMT ceremonies before this experience.

So on that faithful day, I took a mushroom known for inducing feelings of elation, and boy, I wasn’t disappointed!

It felt like the morning of my second “love-at-first-sight” on a summer day. I felt light, and my heart was bursting with the promise of possibilities; I was floating above the ground. I remember texting: “I feel elated” to my newfound impulsive love interest that day.
