Anyone have any luck building an x64 version with VS2022?

did you install msvc 2019 toolchain? Or you tried to upgrade the solution?

I upgraded the toolchain to v143 (VS 2022) and WindowsTargetPlatformVersion to 10.0.19041.0.

But I must be missing something because the afxres.h files are not being generated...

I had the same problem with afxres.h and I solved it halfway by installing C++ ATL for latest v142 build tools (x86 and x64) and C++ MFC for latest v142 build tools (x86 and x64)
but after compiling, unfortunately, the Winamp window did not show up :(

I tried to build doing the upgrade, but as expected there are a lot of errors (more than 2k building x64 and ~200 for 32bit).
Using Visual Studio, most of errors are related to settings (include path undefined.. deprecated symbols etc.) but 64bit is a mess, because there is inline assembly which is not supported by the compiler on 64bit architecture (available only on 32bit for x86).

I'll try to install a VS2019CE on a VM to build this project before moving to upgrade on vs2022

Plus, I noticed right now they are using x86-windows-static-md versions of third part libraries (vcpkg).

I noticed that and the inline assembly.

The very brief readme does say this can produce an x64 build but I'm very skeptical given what I see.

I wish they had folks giving a minimum of support, or at least taking in PR's to make this slowly better so that we can get somewhere good eventually.

At a very minimum, they should take care of all the spammers so that those interested in working on this can properly communicate...

Winamp's last version (5.666) was released in 2013, so it would probably make more sense to not use VS2022, but an older version. I tried compiling with VS2017, after installing all vcpkgs and attempting to build it I got an error.
