Islam was a colleague, friend, and a great leader. She was a devoted mother who cared about her people in Gaza with all of her heart. We mourn her passing, and another senseless killing of Palestine’s future.

It is with deep sadness that HEAL Palestine announces the killing of our Gaza Program Manager, Islam Hijazy, in Gaza today. She was the mother of two small children, and a humanitarian with the highest ethics and professionalism. Islam intentionally stayed in Gaza to help others. “My place is in Gaza serving my people,” she said when she started her leadership role with HEAL. HEAL Palestine is more dedicated than ever to serving Gaza, in her honor. Ceasefire now.
After thousands of years of horrible wars causing blood shed of innocent children, it is about time that we change the mindset of the world regarding all war? This is heartbreaking and truly devastating to read. How many hunantarinas are killed in Gaza is no accident. These are war crimes!
