Islam was a colleague, friend, and a great leader. She was a devoted mother who cared about her people in Gaza with all of her heart. We mourn her passing, and another senseless killing of Palestine’s future.

It is with deep sadness that HEAL Palestine announces the killing of our Gaza Program Manager, Islam Hijazy, in Gaza today. She was the mother of two small children, and a humanitarian with the highest ethics and professionalism. Islam intentionally stayed in Gaza to help others. “My place is in Gaza serving my people,” she said when she started her leadership role with HEAL. HEAL Palestine is more dedicated than ever to serving Gaza, in her honor. Ceasefire now.

Nothing makes me happier than to see the kids we’re treating on the path to healing and recovery. Marah, Sherin, and Sarah all suffered family members killed, and permanent disabilities as a result of having their homes bombed in #Gaza. HEAL Palestine brought them for free care in the New York area and we are honored to be able to serve the Gaza people by healing their children. 🇵🇸✌🏻☮️

A recent radio interview with KYW 1060 AM in Philadelphia with a mom from Gaza who had her baby killed and two other small children injured in a bombing, and brought by HEAL Palestine for medical care.

Last week 11-year-old Baylasan arrived in the Washington DC area for medicalc are through HEAL Palestine after she lost a leg from a bombing by the IOF in #Gaza. Hundreds of people came out to welcome her at Dulles airport. Here is the story from the local news about her arrival.

The killing of Dr. Jumana and her two newborn babies was particularly devastating to HEAL Palestine because our team were supporting her basic humanitarian needs as a displaced mother giving birth in #Gaza

The killing of Jumana and her two newborn twin babies deeply affected all of us and HEAL Palestine because we were actively involved in helping her to have a safe delivery and to provide her and her new babies the humanitarian aid needed and deserved. We need peace and freedom for Palestine more than ever. 🇵🇸✌🏻☮️
