A ‘woke’ flag? Culture war unfurls around Maine’s new (old) design

Some say the proposal for a new flag on the Nov. 5 ballot is an attempt to erase history, while others argue it's related to Christian nationalism. To most, though, the meanings of our state flag and its potential replacement are more personal.
