Arthur Hatfield is one of the most consistent banjo builders in the country. His banjos have the classic prewar sound sought after by so many bluegrass musicians.
This banjo is a 2011 Buckcreek model. Features include mahogany neck and resonator, nickel plated hardware, one piece flange, flathead no-hole tone ring, fifth string spikes at 7th, 9th and 10th frets, speed neck and Remo head.
This was my road banjo, so it has been played, loved and well cared for. It isn't in mint condition. It has typical small scratches on the resonator that are difficult to see and the nickel plated hardware needs polishing. There are a few small air bubbles in the glue holding the binding just below the C spike. It is extremely minor and only noticeable when looking for it. Arthur offered to fix it but since it didn't affect playability and only slightly cosmetic, I never worried about it. Normal tarnish on hardware consistent with normal use amd not being cleaned every day.
This banjo, straight out of Arthur's shop, will cost $2700.
Comes with a hardshell case and leather strap.
