India Opportunity Statement It's upto the Government + Academia + Industry to work together and create collective capabilities, opportunities from India Seeking grants, funds, financial support often from governments to create opportunities won't help for industry. Industry has to make fresh investments to create capabilities . Creating raw material., components supply chain in India is a must . Biosecure Act of USA has imposed restrictions on specific supply chains . Indian Market is also dependent on supply chains from specific markets which will make export to USA challenging now

Patent filings credit Bharat Biotech as 'inventor' of Covaxin, omit ICMR. India's first indigenously developed coronavirus vaccine, Covaxin, was a joint collaboration between the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) with intellectual property (IP) rights jointly shared between the two organisations. That is what the public record states. However, filings by the BBIL at patent offices in India, the United States and Europe suggest that only its scientists and personnel are credited as‘inventors’ of the vaccine with no mention of ICMR scientists. Patent in discussion here is specific to the making of the vaccine filed by Bharat Biotech limited only to“Process Development" I wonder who owns the "Product Patent". Bharat Biotech or ICMR or both?

"Beyond the Classroom: Education Challenges and Triumphs" (Part-14) "Shocking Abuse in Badlapur School Sparks Outrage: A Wake-Up Call for Student Safety Nationwide" The recent incident involving two kindergarten students at an English medium school in Badlapur, Thane district, Maharashtra, has sent shockwaves through the community. The parents of the victims have raised serious concerns about the safety of children in school environments. Thousands of enraged parents and local residents gathered at the school and Badlapur railway station to express their outrage, leading to intense protests. An investigation into the incident uncovered several alarming shortcomings on the part of the school. The absence of female attendants in the girls’ restrooms—a basic safety requirement—was particularly troubling. Additionally, a significant number of CCTV cameras at the school were found to be non-functional. This incident serves as a wake-up call for schools across the country, highlighting the urgent need to enforce basic safety requirements and norms for students of all ages, especially girls. Moreover, it underscores a widespread issue: the lack of clean and hygienic washroom facilities in many schools, which raises serious concerns about the health and well-being of students. India starts making key API clavulanic acid ⚗ ⚕ 🤝 India is taking a major step toward reducing its dependence on China for APIs by starting the production of clavulanic acid. Mumbai-based Kinvan has begun small-scale production of this crucial ingredient, used in the antibiotic Augmentin, which treats bacterial infections. Industry sources indicate that full-scale production of 300 metric tons will begin toward the end of this year. Kinvan is investing ₹447.17 crore to establish the capacity to produce clavulanic acid at this scale. Clavulanic acid, a key component in the combination drug amoxyclav, plays an essential role in manufacturing antibiotics. Currently, India remains heavily dependent on China for clavulanic acid and Penicillin G, but this initiative is set to change that. Thanks to the government’s production-linked incentive scheme, India could see large-scale production of both clavulanic acid and Penicillin G by the end of this year. Kinvan’s progress is seen as a major milestone in strengthening India’s pharmaceutical independence. Large-scale fermentation for clavulanic acid production is expected to commence soon, signaling a positive direction for the country’s API manufacturing capabilities. #pharma #pharmamanufacturing #pharmaceuticalsales #formulations

Nutraceuticals: Price Control Coming Soon? The Indian government is considering regulating the prices of nutraceuticals, currently falling under the FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India). This move aims to make these supplements more affordable for consumers. Potential impact on various stakeholders:- Consumers: Pros: Lower prices could lead to increased accessibility of essential vitamins and minerals. Cons: Stricter regulations might affect product variety or innovation. Nutraceutical Industry: Pros: Price control could create a fairer market and discourage exorbitant pricing. Cons: Profit margins might shrink, impacting research and development. Pharmaceutical Companies: Pros: Clearer distinction between nutraceuticals and prescription drugs could benefit both sectors. Cons: Potential loss of revenue if nutraceutical pricing aligns closer to generic drugs. FSSAI: Pros: Enhanced control over the nutraceutical market might improve product quality and safety. Cons: Implementing and enforcing price regulations could bring additional administrative burden. Overall, price control in the nutraceutical sector has the potential to benefit consumers by making these products more accessible. However, it's crucial to strike a balance to ensure industry growth and continued innovation. #nutraceuticals #regulation #healthcare #affordability #india

Recently, Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi used the term "#Alternative #fertilizers" to tackle various issues related to #chemicals used in #agriculture. A welcome step that would need a clear path for researchers and industries. Have a look at following article from China. They are working on #Green intelligent fertilizers since 2014. (Read this interesting paper). Since 2014, China has instituted multiple policies and plans for the development of new fertilizers. For example, in 2015, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued the “Action Plan for Zero Growth in Fertilizer Use by 2020”; the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the “Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Transformation and Development of the Fertilizer Industry”, highlighting the development goals and directions of the Chinese fertilizer industry. At Biotricks Biotech we are tirelessly working on developing Alternative Fertilizers. You can read more about our initiative here: https://lnkd.in/gZmrVFK9 I have found that stabilizing/ preserving cow urine could be the best source and developed an in-house product. https://lnkd.in/gvX5zxY3 Green intelligent fertilizers—A novel approach for aligning sustainable agriculture with green development Green intelligent fertilizers are new types of high-quality fertilizers produced based on the principles of optimized #plant #nutrition that matches #crops, #soils and the #environment, using the #bigdata intelligent #algorithms for targeted supply-demand matching, activating #root-fertilizer synergy or feedback by intensifying crop #biological potential, developing advanced green manufacturing technology to stimulate crop #rhizosphere effects and fully exploiting #mineral resources contained in raw materials (e.g., phosphate rock).
