NOVA H1 Audio Earrings are the first clip-on earphones on the planet. These Earrings are fully packed with the latest technology embedded in real pearls to provide you with music, phone calls and digital assistants all day long.
Like conventional earrings, the NOVA H1 are placed on the earlobes and project the sound from inside the pearl straight into your ear canal.
Thanks to our worldwide patented Directional Sound Technology, the sound travels from the earlobe to the ear canal avoiding sound leakage and keeping your conversations and music private and secure.
Two tiny high-end microphones are integrated into each Earring providing the user with crystal clear phone calls and wind-noise cancelation.

Other audio product manufacturers tend to respond to what women need and like by simply changing their product color to pink. But because we really wanted to take into consideration women’s needs, demands and preferences, we designed this camouflaged pair of earphones.

The NOVA H1 Audio Earrings consist of a real pearl mounted on a silver or a gold-plated silver clip. The Audio Earrings are nickel-free and come in two versions – clip-on or with a stud for those with pierced ears.

Since the core idea behind the NOVA H1 was to be aware of your surroundings and yet be connected to your family/loved ones, we developed a unique out-of-ear technology. Hence, the music experience differs from the in-ear or over-the-ear earphones.

**Unique feature**
The rechargeable battery inside every Earring is replaceable. All you need to do is send the Earrings to a NOVA certified partner who will provide this service for you, a process similar to a battery replacement for a digital watch. This increases the lifetime of the Audio Earrings and is environmentally friendly.
Control your Audio Earrings with the button located at the back part of each Earring. Answer phone calls, play or skip songs, activate the digital assistant…wire-free and while keeping your smartphone in your bag.
Choose between clip-on earphones and the stud version if you are looking for extra security. The corresponding survey will be sent to you after the campaign.
Each Earring weighs around 7g, which makes them perfect to wear comfortably all day long, every day. Furthermore, they will stay in place for as long as you need them, no matter your head movements.
The NOVA Audio Earrings contain 1 speaker and 2 mics per Earring to provide you with the best sound experience. (2 speakers and 4 mics in total)
The sound experience differs from the in-ear or over-the-ear earphones and could be compared to AR (Augmented Reality) – a layer of sound/music is added to the existing layer of sound that surrounds you. It feels like having a soundtrack accompanying you throughout the day.

The NOVA H1 Charging Case contains a 320mAh rechargeable battery that is able to recharge the Earrings more than 5 times and provide over 20 hours of playtime. It recharges in 2 hours wirelessly through the integrated Qi receiver or the USB-C connector. Every commercial Wireless Qi Charger pad (WPC v1.2 compatible) can be used, like the one used to charge smartphones.

NOVA H1 Audio Earrings are compatible with all Bluetooth enabled devices like smartphones and tablets running on iOS and Android operating systems or PCs and laptops.
The NOVA H1 Audio Earrings only emit a maximum of 1 mW while making a phone call compared to a smartphone, which radiates up to 2000 mW. In fact, the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz) recommends the usage of headsets, including our Audio Earrings.
Furthermore, because of the location of the Audio Earrings the user is less exposed to electromagnetic radiation compared to in-ear earphones.
When the Audio Earrings are not playing music or handling phone calls, they go to ultra-sleep mode and wait for a wake-up signal by the phone.
The NOVA H1 Audio Earrings are designed like high-end jewelry - not only because they are made of precious metals and a real pearl, but also because we offer the option to exchange the battery once it reaches the end of its lifecycle.
This means that the lifetime of the Audio Earrings can be extended by another 4-5 years.
Furthermore, we use conflict-free material in our electronics by avoiding the use of tantalum.

After months and months of development and with the prototypes in the design verification state, we reached a crucial milestone: Production Line Design.
Over the next five months, we will continue working on designing and setting up the production line with our manufacturers. This includes tooling for manufacturing, production fixtures, measurement equipment, programming, and testing.

Our CTO studied telecommunications and electronics at the TUM Munich, worked the last ~30 years in R&D in various companies in telecomunication, with the last 7 years in the wearables field. He was part of the Munich based startup who invented the first truely wireless headset and successfully brought it to mass production. There he filed more than 16 patents, 4 already granted.

Software state: the Earrings' firmware is still under development, the digital assistant functionality is still to be implemented. The charger firmware is still under development although the hardware is already able to charge. Hardware state: the COVID-19 pandemic can cause delays in our pearl sourcing and processing. The same applies to some critical electronic components. Depending on the silver industrialization process, we might have to change the alloy for better manufacturability.
