The Ibanez PF10 was dreadnought shaped acoustic guitar made between 1986 and 1999. The PF10 had a spruce soundboard with mahogany back, sides and neck. The rosewood fingerboard had 20 frets with pearl dot inlays. Hardware included a rosewood bridge and chrome plated die cast tuners. It came in natural or black finishes.

This listing is in error. This model came out before 1991. I have one puchased by me in 1988. S/N 88040XXXX.
Your 88 PF10

Hi they came out from 1986-1999 I have one I bought new that Yr 92. It has warmed over the yrs no electrics. It's a great grab and help right a song or practiceing new songs. I have other better guitars but this is so easy to have next to my chair and can just grab it. But just thought I'd fix the date problem for you.
Performance 12- string

I have a prototype PF10-12 in which the Performance was written different from production models.. Serial # 90160832P
Still in mint condition. I purchased it about 1985. ..Want to know if its worth more than the Production Models.. Thanking you in advance... Call me at ( 201) 955- 8827 I'm in New Jersey !!

Found out 100 were made I'm still wanting to know an answer to my previous question.... Is the Prototypes worth more since the production models were made with the Performance inlay....Smaller and under the Ibanez inlay... Different from the production models ..Performance inlay is much larger !!

I have a Performance with serial 88040655P. Now i understand the 88 is not the year (I bought it earlier) and the P is for Prototype? Can anyone enlighten me on this? ;)

That's right. I bought mine before 1988, the serial is 88040655P.

88 is the production year, which can be 3-4 months before the calendar year begins.

Solid or laminated?

I have one purchased in the early 1990s. At the price, I always assumed it was laminated, but by the sound, I could swear it's solid, at least the top. It's an incredible instrument for what it cost.
how to date my PF10 guitar?

I recently snagged a sweet ibanez peformance acoustic. Im sure its NOT unique, im just finding sites that come back with an error every time i enter it's serial number. - 3301000550
taken from the label inside the sound hole..
