Rod Hamlett

Winfield, Mo. - Winfield R-IV will be getting a new superintendent for the upcoming school year. Daniel Williams, the current superintendent, released the following announcement on social media:

“On the behalf of the Winfield R-IV Board of Education, it is my distinct pleasure to announce the hiring of Mr. Rod Hamlett as the new Superintendent for the Winfield R-IV School District effective July 1, 2022. Mr. Hamlett has been in education for 22 years with 16 of those years being in school administration including years spent as a Superintendent, High School Principal, Middle School Principal, Assistant Principal, and Instructional Support Facilitator. Mr. Hamlett has an extensive background in school administration, curriculum development, and district leadership. Mr. Hamlett has served the Silex School District for the past two years as Superintendent. The Winfield R-IV Board of Education is confident that Mr. Hamlett will provide exceptional leadership to our district moving forward. In the near future a meet and greet will be planned to welcome Mr. Hamlett to the Winfield School District.”

Rod Hamlett, who is currently the Silex Superintendent, will be Winfield’s Superintendent starting in July.

“I am excited to be joining the Winfield community.  As a lifelong Lincoln County resident, I am very aware of all the great things the school and community has to offer and look forward to getting to know the parents, students, and staff.  While it is hard to leave Silex and the relationships that I have built over the last 5 years, the potential of the Winfield School District should be exciting to everyone,” stated Hamlett.

As Silex’s superintendent, Hamlett worked on various projects including a $5 million project to add additional classrooms, LED lighting, undergo a gym renovation and baseball field renovation, a new drainage system and the asphalting of district parking lots.
