  1. Privacy is what allows teenage couples under the age of 18 to sleep with each other if they live in US states with a high age of consent. If bureaucrats knew what everyone was doing all the time (see China), teenage couples would have to obey the absurdly high age of consent of 18.

  3. The age of consent has no biological basis. It is based on the personal preference of the 70-year-old bureaucrats who wrote the laws. It's not like people hit puberty two years later in the states where the age of consent is 18.

  5. 70-year-olds have no business deciding whether 16-year-olds are allowed to have sex.
