🟣 Polygon has had a busy week, migrating its MATIC token to POL as part of its transition to Polygon 2.0.

The migration seeks to give the community a greater say in the growth of the network and offers infinite scalability possibilities to unify all Layer 1 blockchain.

In the process, the POL token has become what Polygon Labs' own CEO refers to as a “hyperproductive token.”

💡 What does this mean? Until now, a token receives rewards for a single action, for example, validating a node. However, POL will receive rewards from additional actions such as guaranteeing data availability or performing different actions in the network.

🟢 Polygon’s Mainnet Upgrade and New $POL Token Launched

📈 Polygon ( $MATIC ) successfully launched its mainnet upgrade on September 4, introducing the $POL token. This upgrade is expected to enhance the network's performance and expand its market presence.

🔄 #Polygon Shifts to $POL, but $MATIC Struggles at $0.37! 🚀

Polygon has officially migrated to the POL token, replacing MATIC as the primary token on its network.

This transition, which was announced by Polygon Labs on July 18 and went live on September 4, introduces POL as the new native token for gas, staking, validator rewards, and governance fees.

Despite this major upgrade, MATIC is still facing challenges, trading around $0.37.

While there's no immediate pressure for MATIC holders to switch, Binance, Kucoin, and Coinbase are supporting the migration.

Binance will end all MATIC spot trading pairs on September 10th at 03:00 UTC.

The upgrade hasn't yet lifted MATIC's price, leaving many in the crypto space watching closely. 📉🔍

I'm bearish on $POL - I liked Polygon because it had a 10B token cap. Now they are going to print 2% every year with this POL upgrade. Eww, not holding this garbage.

Pathfinders of @Polygon differ in purpose , functionality and structure.The design of $POL is efficient when compared to $MATIC token which comes with a lot of shortcomings. Polygon founders has adopted POL as their token because of the diverse roles it gives to its validators

Secondly, POL is different from MATIC token when we observe them from a staking point of view. With this in view, the validators can obtain rewards from protocol and transaction fees. #SocialMining

Thirdly, POL token has a positive effect on the ability to easily buy or sell an asset without affecting its price .
