A NEW POWER BILL

State Corporation Commission officials warned on Friday that a new bill to deregulate the power industry could drive up rates for most consumers.

Del. Kenneth Plum, D-Fairfax, substituted the two-page compromise bill for his earlier bill written by Virginia Power. A subcommittee sent the bill to the full House of Delegates’ Commerce Insurance and Banking Committee.
