A video captures the moment a bus driver violently fights a woman who appears to be trying to get into his vehicle.

The incident, which took place on Southbury Road in Enfield at 4pm on Friday, is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police.

The video begins with the bus driver holding the woman in a headlock at the entrance of the 192 bus bound for Tottenham Hale.

It is unclear who started the argument and what triggered the violent escalation.

Other women are heard telling the bus driver and the woman to stop fighting and one tries to pull them apart.

One of the other women yells, “Stop the fuck touching her. Get away from her.’

The bus driver aims to kick the girl from the step of his bus before seemingly trying to close the doors.

The woman stops the bus doors from closing completely before the fight continues while the bus driver tries to prevent her from entering the vehicle. Punches are thrown by both parties.

The Metropolitan Police said the bus driver reported the incident about 10 minutes later by stopping officers.

The force has since received a counter-accusation that it was the woman in the video who was assaulted.

They are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with leads to contact the police.

A Transport for London spokesman said: “We were concerned to learn of an incident that took place on a 192 bus and have reported it to the police as soon as possible.

“We support Arriva’s urgent investigation into this very worrying incident.”
