FSLR abandoned exploration for more tellurium back in 2012 as China made beachheads into our country with cheaper silicon crystalline kinds . FSLR's former geologists took over the tellurium exploration gig and turn public .
The tiny company just announced sale of more shares to help finance the completion of exploration at two exploration locations both in North America.
FSLR still relies on China for over half of tellurium with Sweden and Mexico the rest . FSLR is nearing completion of more new manufacturing capacity that will bring FSLR to 25 GW about ten times more than durnig 2012 when FSLR got out of exploration for tellurium.
This is a lot of demand for tellurium. What strikes me odd is that FSLR still doesnt seem as concerned about future supplies of tellurium and appears to be uninterested in the tiny exploration company trying to raise captial to continue .
I doubt that China will stop supplying tellurium here but I am not sure about the future supplies of tellurium as Frist Solar will start ramping up manufacturing to double this year by 2026 or 2027.
I dont know where First Solar can find additioanl supplies as the world supply of tellurium is all spoke for if not already.
it takes time to develop the tellurium mines after completion of exploration to map out where the reserves are.
It is murky out there but that tiny exploration compay is still trading at 7 cents a share but commissions are sky high.. not cheap because it is in the pink markets.

@OilIsDEAD Hi Bretze. Perhaps First Solar is not worried about tellurium suply simply because it knows something you don’t?

@Turre maybe mabye mbaye you are right who knows but it still strikes me as odd! That tiny exploration company just announced today that theyare receiving data from 2023 sampling of one of their mines after long delay.. maybe it is because I posted this comment to highlight the odditiy of First Solar approach to future tellurium supply. The CEO mention a little about tellurium supply and He sounds like he is hushed by external forces
First Solar is well established manufacturer but it appears to me that First Solar is being resisted by external forces whoever they are. I can think of some but it is no use naming them .
At least, I can say that most of solar people really want more panels from China and with the tarffs being placed on them.. They are understandably angry!

@Ca428 I agree. I think Enphase will more than double in 2025 to almost $300 and First Solar to almost $400.
