WAUSEON — The office of the Fulton County prosecuting attorney reported a Wauseon man was indicted Monday by a Fulton County grand jury on multiple charges, which includes pandering obscenity.
It was reported Daniel J. Medina, 26, was indicted on five counts of pandering obscenity, all felonies of the fifth degree; one count of menacing by stalking, a felony of the fourth degree; and two counts of sexual conduct with an animal, both misdemeanors of the second degree.

The office of the Fulton County prosecuting attorney reported it is alleged on or about July 24, Medina did, with knowledge of the character of the material or performance involved, create, reproduce or publish any obscene material, knowing that such material was to be used for commercial exploitation or that such material would be publicly disseminated or displayed, or Medina was reckless in that regard.
It is further alleged Medina, by engaging in a pattern of conduct, did knowingly cause the victim to believe he would cause physical harm with a sexual motivation. It is also alleged Medina did knowingly engage in sexual conduct with an animal.
Fulton County Common Pleas Court’s online records indicate a warrant was issued to Medina Tuesday, and he was transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio (CCNO). Medina was listed CCNO’s active inmate list on these charges as of Friday afternoon.
These charges were initially filed with the court by the Wauseon Police Department July 29.
Fulton County Court’s Online records state an initial hearing was held, at which time Medina requested and was granted court-appointed counsel. A preliminary hearing was rescheduled upon the motion of the defendant.
The court reported on Aug. 7 Medina had submitted a written plea of not guilty by reason of insanity on these charges, and a request for evaluations was made. The court then issued an order to CCNO to convey Medina to the Court Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Toledo for a competency evaluation.
The order states, upon completion of this assessment, Medina was to be returned to CCNO pending a further order of the court.
