The Alchemy of Samsara & Nirvana | Talk by Dr. Larry Ward | 10 Worlds Teaching Series

The Alchemy of
Samsara & Nirvana

10 Worlds Teaching Series

Over the past six months, Dr. Larry Ward has taught about each of the six realms of samsara (hell, hungry ghost, animal, human, asura, god).

Before he begins teaching on the four realms that embody the path to liberation (voice-hearers, realized ones, bodhisattvas, Buddha), Dr. Ward will offer this special talk where he'll explore the connections and similarities between samsara and nirvana.

This event is a part of our year long teaching series on the Buddhist story of The 10 Worlds, ten different yet interconnected states of mind that we all inhabit. They are fluid and impermanent. All ten are existential realities with their own moods, characteristics and inquiries. No matter the realm, each one invites us on a quest to learn more about ourselves, to build our capacity to adapt to the challenges we face, and to help relieve the suffering of all beings through breaking free from the cycle of samsara.

NEW: Starting in August, our dharma talks will now include a Q&A. After Peggy's guided meditation and Larry's talk, we'll open the floor to your questions for the teachers.

Wednesday, August 21
