I'll give isekai the benefit of the doubt here but I don't think this show is going to make it very long before the usual themes come up. "Rewatch Re:Zero" they said. If obvious racism metaphor ハーフ Emillia-tan wasn't an anime girl, she would have gotten the ick the minute tracksuit-kun entered the mansion. This guy is so cringe yet she's like, "OMG Subaru. You're so great and I really like you." Am I looking at another yet female character in anime who's main personality trait is liking the male protagonist? Also having the overpowered red haired guy save the main character from fanservice villain is not good writing. Tracksuit-kun has unlimited resets to figure out how to answer this predicament by himself without a rescue cop out. The scene went from "Holy shit. Subaru is actually doing stuff despite not instantly being overpowered the second the plot started" to "Well here's this stupid anime trope because the writers are bad and don't know how to give the hero a believable victory.
