The participants of the conference (100 countries and international organizations) reaffirmed resolutions A/RES/ES-11/1 (02.03.22) and A/RES/ES-11/6 (23.02.23) that "no territorial acquisition resulting from the threat or use of force shall be recognized as legitimate" adopted by the UN General Assembly, and stressed the commitment to respect international law, including the UN Charter.
At a press conference following the summit in Switzerland, President of Ukraine V. Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready to start negotiations with Russia "tomorrow" if Moscow withdraws its troops and respects its territorial integrity.
On the eve of the conference in Switzerland on 14.06.24, Russian President V. Putin put forward Moscow's conditions for a ceasefire and the start of negotiations, which include the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, the recognition of these regions as Russian at the international level, as well as the lifting of Western sanctions and Ukraine's refusal to join NATO.
Thus, the obstacle to a peaceful settlement of the conflict on both sides is the demand for the withdrawal of troops. The removal of this obstacle will be the topic of the next peace conference on Ukraine.
That is, if, on the one hand, Ukraine gives up five regions and withdraws its troops, and on the other hand, Russia withdraws its troops from the territory of the same regions, then the obstacle to a peaceful settlement of the conflict will be removed.
In the bundle of three forces: Russia (in strategic isolation) is active, Ukraine (in coalition with the West) is active.
