Japan’s birth rate is declining, but the government is taking steps to encourage families to grow! Starting in 2025, pregnant women will receive ¥100,000 (around $660) in financial aid, plus consultation support throughout their pregnancy.

This aid comes in two parts: ¥50,000 during the first consultation, and the remaining ¥50,000 after birth or during another meeting. If you’re having twins or more, you’ll receive an extra ¥50,000 for each child!

This aid can be used for childbirth and childcare products, post-childbirth care, or babysitter fees. The government hopes this support will ease anxiety and financial burdens, encouraging more couples to start a family.
