Welcome to Homeschooling for College Credit!

Resourceful high school planning.

We are a homeschool support organization. Homeschooling for College Credit is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led by volunteers.

Maximize your time and money savings by outsourcing college classes DURING high school.

  • How early? Anytime really. Usually, teens can start earning college credit in high school, but academically advanced students may start earlier using special programs.
  • How smart? Teens of every ability level can earn college credit- even students who need learning accommodations can earn college credit in high school.
  • Which subjects? Literally, any subject you can think of! Motivated and academically capable students may wish to replace high school core classes with college classes, while other students may choose to take exciting electives.
  • Cost savings? During high school, college tuition is free or reduced. After high school, you’ll pay full price. Parents can save tens of thousands of dollars (better than a scholarship) by bringing college credit into their high school program.
  • Graduate early? No! Instead of graduating, we encourage you to keep your teen in high school for 4 years while accumulating more reduced cost college credit. Your teen will retain their freshman application status no matter how much college credit they earn in high school.

Understanding the bigger principles will help you craft a HS4CC plan in your homeschool.

Step 1: What is Homeschooling for College Credit?

Step 2: How to Homeschool for College Credit

Step 3: Join our Community

  • Our organization is free to join.
  • HS4CC Facebook group: We run 60 Facebook groups, and this is where you’ll meet other HS4CC families, ask questions, and interact with our experts. You can join as many groups as you like.
  • Subscribe to this website/blog. Jennifer publishes a post EVERY DAY with tools, tips, and advice for your homeschool. Manage your settings to get the post every day or as a digest. Unsubscribe anytime.

Step 4: Start Earning College Credit

  • Plan your teen’s first 3 classes. The first 3 classes are the MOST IMPORTANT because they determine whether or not your HS4CC program will be successful. Before you sign your teen up, take our free class: Spark Stage Help Me Start.
  • College Credit Directory (also in the top menu bar) is where you’ll find all your college credit options once you’re ready to begin!
  • Transcript Resources Page As your teen persists through high school, learn how to keep academic records for their high school and college courses accurately.

Encouragement

Homeschooling for College Credit works. Think of our organization as a buffet instead of a recipe. We’ll show you more opportunities than you could ever take advantage of, but YOU are the best person to filter those opportunities for your teen.

If your teen earns even one college credit in high school, that’s a success worth celebrating!

WEBINARS: Each month we offer a live Question and Answer Hour with Jennifer hosted on Zoom. You’ll also find exciting dual enrollment sessions, CLEP planning seminars, collaboration college videos, and more. Live Events Schedule

WEBSITE CELEBRATIONS (Happy Stories): Want to read how other parents have done what you’re trying to do? Our Happy Stories is a blog feature highlighting a new family each time. It’s full of amazing accomplishments! Your teen could be next!

FACEBOOK CELEBRATIONS: We want you to get encouraged (and stay encouraged) along your journey! The last day of every month is our “Celebration” day on our main Facebook page. Parents share their teen’s wins for the month- whether it’s getting a good grade, earning college credit, or finishing a degree, we celebrate it.

Since 2012, I’ve made it my mission to stay in front of the changing world of higher education and how homeschoolers can access it in a way that leverages programs that often go unused. Homeschooling families usually have twice the motivation and half the resources! I’m so proud of our community here – it changes lives and is important work. We can help make college affordable and empower you to drive the process instead of being pushed out of the way. I’m so thrilled you found us! Welcome!
