OPEC stuff. I bet that chose that field because it's a joint venture, and they have to split the profits.

In a report by the Spanish newspaper Cronica on February 9, 2024, Saddam Haftar was the one who instigated the closure of the Sharara field, and the reason was the Spanish police’s seizure of military equipment and weapons that were destined for #UAE and then to Saddam Haftar.
