What severely disappointed me is that Samsung went back to slowing down video files recorded in slow motion mode instead of saving them in real time. Samsung switched to real-time encoding in 2015 on the S6, but sadly switched back to slowed-down video files.
I think Samsung wants to ensure that the file plays back as slow motion on every device, even those without adjustable playback speed, but Samsung delivered a pre-installed video editor since the S6 where the user could create new video files with the selected portions slowed down. This was a brilliant solution. Sadly, Samsung dropped it.
Now that smartphones have 120 Hz screens, there is a genuine use for recording high-speed 120fps video and playing them back in real-time to get a smoother viewing experience. And those 120fps videos recorded on the S6 can now be enjoyed as smooth real-time videos. Those recorded on the S5? They need to be sped up to 4x speed (not possible in the pre-installed video player) to be seen in real-time, and even then they lack audio.
If Samsung wants to save slow-motion videos as slowed-down files, at least the normal video mode should have frame rate options above 60fps, meaning 120fps and 240fps, which create a real-time video, so the user gets what they expect. Slow motion mode? The video file appears slower than real-time when played back at 1x speed. Normal video mode? The video file is saved as real-time.
Real-time high framerate videos are superior for video editing, since they clear up any confusion about the movement speed. Someone who edits a video will know that "100%" indicated in the video editor will always match real-time speed, not "400%" "800%", or whichever number.

Something positive: The "motion photos" feature adds sound!
This wasn't the case in early Samsung phones with this feature, like the S7.

For me, the latest updates to OneUI 6 are going great. Great performance and stability.
In my opinion, the photos look better than in previous updates.

Outstanding allrounder midranger.
Using it for 2.5 years. Recently updated to 6.1 UI. It's more smooth now.
Want to know any of you have changed battery recently? how is the battery performance? My batteries are degraded due to heavy heat weather condition.

Today I've noticed that with battery saver enabled, the battery charges to 80%. Not so long ago it would charge to 85%.
Perhaps this was changed in the last update.

But can do water splash and monetary drop into a bathtub will be fine. Before that, make sure the back-panel of this phone is tight fitting and there is no gap anywhere throughout its sides as this phone back-panel tend to detach from the frame over time which has been reported by some. If the back panel is not in good shape, don't even think of wet the phone.

I would've held on to this phone, for like a year more. Battery is running strong and security updates still go for like a year.
But it's the second time already the usb port is starting to break .... like WTF.
I've had the phone for 2 years. First time it went to warranty fix, after only 2 months, cause the phone started complaining about moisture in the port, 24/7. I sent the phone to be fixed and they switched a new usb port. Been working fine, till around 1 month ago. Now the cable needs to be inserted in 1 specific way. So it starts charging, or it just wont plug properly and complains about slow charging.
I guess it's time to get a new phone

If yes, how is it in camera, battery life, UI smoo... moreOn this latest June patch update under OneUI 6.1, it seems to be stable - phone performance seems a bit better than before, seems to be more responsive. I think new battery adaptive feature helps prolong energy, not much on the camera - same as before. Most obvious is the faster boot-up either Power On \ Restart of the phone.

I did noticed faster boot-up from a power-restart, and the OneUI banner status indicator is now all white, from previous blue. This June 25 patch update has a June.1,2024 security patch level, size = 313 MB. Version A528BXXS8GXEA .
I think this would be the 2nd patch-update under 6.1 Will send additional feedback after more observation.

A real keeper - good thing I got the maxed-out version of 256GB. I wont even think of selling this. NO GREEN Lines, works well as expected for the good buy price of 20K Php over 2 years ago.

And not only that, don't forget about charger brick in the box where it belongs. Only bad thing it is about to run out of updates. But, security patches will still be there for a while and Android 14 will last for a very long time

So I will slow charge all my phones for 5 to 7 hours between 900 and 400 mAh using the USB extension cable.

Could be anything from trivial to crucial issue. It needs to be checked rather than guess. It may not be as bad as it seems. Look around if you can get it checked for free at some repair place first.
May be just random fail. Or not. I've been using it almost 2,5 years quite heavily with almost all kind of task. No issue. Made in Vietnam.
