How about providing the "context" of the literally dozens of Palestinians children who can be murdered any given day by Israeli attacks on GAza? Or the "context" that Israel started this whole mess decades ago when it began building illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian land and did all it could to make a Palestinian state impossible? The ultimate context of all of this horrific conflict is that it is entirely the fault of Israel, which has done all it can over decades to avoid adhering to its international obligations and has made the possibility of peace increasingly distant.

Rachel Fink refers to the occupied Golan as "Northern Israel". Does Haaretz journalistic policy allow factual misrepresentation?

"The headlines should have noted that the Israeli strikes were a response to a rocket strike from Lebanon that killed 12 teenagers and children in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights"
I don't think any US media explained that the Oct 7 HAMAS attack was a response to 76 years of horror at the hands of Israel and there will be no apology for this complete lack of context.

Israel wants peace and has proven it by giving back land to earn it. What have the Palestinian leadership done other than spreading hatred and utopic promises to their people?

The hypocrisy of the Israeli embassy in Washington is staggering. In complaining about the inaccuracy of the WAPOs coverage, the embassy claimed the victims as Israeli children/citizens. Netanyahu and Smotrich have also done the same. Portraying the victims as Israeli citizens, is historically, politically, and factually false and the visit of Netanyahu to Majdal Farms was met with considerable protest by the occupied citizens who largely offer allegiance to Syria. Occupying a people does not make them citizens, as the West Bank and Gaza shows.
While the WAPO was wrong in its coverage, it is far worse to politicise and manipulate a tragedy like the Israelis have done in this instance. Especially if that leads to more death as is likely to be the case.

They have the right to oppose to the government and netaniahou. They didn't say they pay allegiance to Syria, on the contrary they serve in IDF, and their complaint is that Israel doesn't consider them enough Israelis, because they're not Jewish (after the voting of the State Law)
Israel is obliged to protect all it's citizens even if some disagree

They're not Israeli citizens. Occupying them doesn't make them citizens. 80% of the Golani Druze have rejected Israeli citizenship. Few serve in the IDF.

Maybe a few more pictures of what was happening in Gaza at the same time, with over 50 Gazans killed by the IDF, including women and children, might have provided additional context as well.
