The editor of the legendary magazine speaks
The magnificent history of yaoi, BL (boys' love), otaku, and subculture...
In the late 1970s, anime magazines were launched one after another.
The first Comiket was held at the dawn of otaku culture.
In these turbulent times, the original BL magazine "JUNE" appeared like a comet.
A book has been published that covers the period from its launch to its discontinuation.
"The Age of JUNE - Before the Dawn of BL" (Aki Shobo)
This time, we invited Toshihiko Sagawa, who was involved in the planning and launch of "JUNE",
A talk event was held where we could listen in detail to stories about what happened back then.
(The interviewer will be Go Yoshida.)
It was a chaotic time when the term BL did not yet exist and there was no clear distinction between subculture and otaku culture.
Could it be that this diverse energy is what gives birth to new culture?
What kind of developments will there be? Please look forward to it.
