habu : I met with Mr. Fujita on a talk show about "AmebaVision" once in 10 years ago. It is long time no see you.
Fujita : When I started video project just around that time, I am using the know-how at that time also for "AbemaTV". At that time, I was touched by the book called "determination power" written by Mr. habu , I asked you to talk with me as I would like to see you all means.
habu : Was it so? Thank you very much. Thank you for opening "Shogi Channel" in AbemaTV in February.
Fujita : Mr. habu appeared on the first day, but I have figures all the time since that day. After all, I realize that fans are solid in shogi. To be honest, since the Mahjong channel is doing well, I started to play Shogi, but also because of cooperating with the Shogi world, the Shogi channel is very good.
habu : The goodness of shogi is also the place where people of a wide age participate. If you make such a channel, it will lead to the spread of shogi greatly and I am very grateful. What was the reason for opening a channel in the first place?
Fujita : The chance for the establishment was Mr. Daisuke Suzuki of a shogi player. It has already been over 24 years ago, but when I was about 20 years old, there was something I had packed through "Sound of tiles" by Shoichi Sakurai. At that time, there was a time when Mahjong was struck with Daisuke Suzuki . A few years later, he came out as a shogi players and knew for the first time that "he was a shogi player.
habu : Because he was a mah-jongg fellow, I did not know that he was a chess player.
Fujita : I did not know at all. Supervision of the manga "Hachi one diver" was also done and I knew later that it was a wonderful person. I was reunited with Ms. Suzuki about 4 years ago, but one day he suddenly contacted me, "I want to play Shogi channel with AbemaTV", so that was why I decided "Well, let's do it" is.
habu : AbemaTV was the first anniversary of the launch, and the trial broadcasting was well done before that, but how is the response from the people who are watching?
Fujita : The domestic application most downloaded last year is actually AbemaTV. However, smartphone service is more important than the number of downloads, the number "unique user" that uses the application actively is important. And AbumaTV's unique user was 8.5 million in the month of January. I think that this number is pretty good in terms of the rising edge of the media.
habu : It seems that it is more than I imagined.
Fujita : I was estimating the business plan quite severely, but I feel a lot better than that. Internet users tend to see only things they are interested in, but in AbemaTV, people who are not familiar with it are seeing Mahjong channels and shogi channels. In that sense, I feel that I can play the role of media as a structure.
habu : In shogi, I think that there is an image that "the threshold to remember rules and become interesting is high." I think that people are very happy when they see Abega TV's Shogi Channel and a little interest in Shogi.
Fujita : I noticed that while watching the Shogi channel, I thought that it was for people with a higher level, and it is surprisingly not so, and everyone has been described very clearly.
habu : Oh, there it is. The commenter may not know who is watching, because it is a commentary to get it understood first. Also, if you explain it carefully with a lot of words, I think that it is because it is transmitted to people who are not familiar with Shogi properly. Unlike sports broadcasting etc., the shogi does not change so much at a stroke, and there is time to explain with taking time each one carefully. When it is a sport like rugby, various things happen in the blink of an eye. I think that area is a nice place for shogi.
Fujita : There is a place that seems to be boring because there is little visual movement of shogi live broadcasting. But, as you will see, you will always think about it forever, so you do not get bored at all.
habu : I wonder if shogi is a game closer to baseball than baseball and soccer. Although baseball live broadcasting can not miss the moment of home runs, even if you are not concentrating on it, there is somewhere where you can see the flow of the game. I feel that there are elements of entertainment enjoying enjoying such time in Shogi.
Fujita : Because shogi can be enjoyed from any point, whether viewed from the beginning or from the middle. In that sense, Mahjong feels rather close to soccer live broadcasting.
habu : Oh, maybe so. That's exactly one stroke, two strokes, but because the circumstances change completely as a result of one lap.
Fujita : I was quite appearing on the Mahjong channel of AbemaTV. You say you are playing as a player?
