Thoughts, Theories, and Random Nonsense I’m Shouting Into the Void.

I was supposed to have my genetics appointment in September for a connective tissue evaluation. I missed my appointment because I had to get tested for COVID-19. Now I won’t be going until April 2021, as long as COVID doesn’t mess it up again.

A good portion of the family on my mother’s paternal side fit a hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) diagnosis, some with Marfan’s features. My youngest fits the criteria, as does my oldest, while my middle daughter, has the signs of Classic Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (cEDS.) On my father’s side, there is a history of heart failure and heart attacks, and he has some collagen gene variants as well.

In the meantime, I’ve read so many publications, and learned more about genetics than my brain can handle, without coming here and spewing out my thoughts, theories, and random nonsense. If I don’t get the ideas out there, they might actually drive me a little crazy. I need to work through them, even if it is into the void and no one responds.

So while this will be the first story in my Mad Ramblings section of That Odd Mom, there will be many more to come. Should you happen upon one, It may be best to start at the beginning before you venture down my rabbit hole of thoughts.
