To kids raised on Superman, Tom Swift and “The Jetsons,” it seemed like the future had just landed on the streets of South Allentown.
They could hear the car coming before they saw it, whistling like only a jet too low to the ground could sound. Then it came, looking like something that just blasted out of the pages of a comic book.
