But the 34-year-old, who co-founded a cryptocurrency trading platform, has managed to surpass the first prediction, without falling victim to the second.
Delo is the first Briton to be revealed as a dollar billionaire who has made his fortune from bitcoin, as well as the nation’s youngest self-made billionaire.
But Delo did not strike lucky speculating in the notoriously volatile electronic currency. Instead he co-founded Hong Kong-based BitMex in 2014 and built the firm’s trading engine.
